After covering about 1,000+ books at the library, here's a tip I learned that will make things easier: just cut a diagonal across the corner (so you cut a triangle off.) You end up with a mitered corner every time, with just one cut. Then just cut a truncated V shape at the spine (instead of three separate cuts.) Again, less work, but still excellent results.

Mam, This is the first time I have ever seen any of your crafts I believe. They are all budget friendly and all made so well and it's so encouraging to me when steps are told and where supplies have come from. I so appreciate that. My Mom became ill in the winter of July 2020 and until she became worse I was still crafting when she took naps when we were together. As she became worse the enjoyment of crafts left me. My Mom is in heaven now and the itch to start making jewerly is coming back, sewing ideas and crafting in general. I love to work with paper and i make my own photo frames using molding with my miter box. In 2022 I was given notice to vacate my Mom's home I was hoping to buy as it was the perfect home but, I was not given the opportunity to buy it. For close to 2 years now I have been renting a 610 square ft Flat in a registered historical building where nails and molly bolts are not allowed. I literally have a trail in all the rooms to get from A to B. I have donated almost everything I owned to keep all of my Mom's treasurers and she left me her bedroom set and dining/living room set. My goal of owning a house when I was 30 went out the window and 40 and 50. Salaries are low and rents and homes are hugely priced in the Northern VA area. I have recently learned about a small house with a very tiny yard and patio going on the market on Sunday, August 6. I have been crunching numbers for 2 days and getting bank statements together and tomorrow my Dad and I after church are going to go see it. I am praying it will be God's will for me to buy. The 2 bedrooms are a wonderful size and the one room with built in book shelves would be ideal for fabric, card stock, jewerky supplies. The kitchen is renovated and it has its own washer and dryer. I have always said I wanted a shadow box home and a postage size stamp yard enough for veggies to be grown and my Mom's favorite flowers. In my car today are a stack of books. This morning I went to the little libraries in the neighborhood but all were filled. Now I see your idea to cover them and wow, if I could get your same paper and I am able to buy this little home, a stack of books would look so very cool on the built in bookshelves. I also love prints with greenery. Months ago at the Variety Store near me I saw tissue paper with a similar print I have thought about off and on to decopage into 2 old glass vases I have but, the tissue paper is $6. I am getting ready to take my first vacation with my Dad since the summer of 1986. He is 85 and I am 59. I never turn down overtime money at work and I have made a deal with him we will split the hotel money and split paying for all meals but, like I already do after church on Sundays when he goes to the men's room I quick pay the bill. He rarely lets me treat him. I am excited to see your crafts today. I have a thing for trays too and my bathroom is nautical and if I am able to get this little house with the patio I want to make your round tray with maybe white nautical rope, a shell candle that I make and other lose shells from Sanibel I picked up when on a trip with my Mom and Sister. As soon as I saw your cookie tray idea I thought that would be cool to make with magnets for some of my floral pins I make that I sell at craft sales. Then you mentioned magnets and I thought, "see, 2 great minds think alike". Sorry for the novel and I hope I see you again. Blessings, Rebekah

I'm dying to know if you got the house!! 🤞🤞🤞 Something to think about, not sure if it's a thing available everywhere, but maybe you could get into a rent-to-own situation. You rent at market rate, but if you can't get the down payment together, you can save up while renting or even have a portion of each month's rent go toward a reasonable down payment. I think this would only be a private agreement between the parties, make sure you understand fully and consult a Real Estate Lawyer. Wouldn't hurt if you researched it online prior to taking the leap. Good Luck!🍀

I’m praying that you got the house!! If for some reason you didn’t remember God has a plan for EVERYONE! Great ideas. Beautiful results. One thing I don’t understand that I see nearly everyone doing. They cut a shape out of the center of paper, fabric, contact paper, wallpaper, wood, cardboard, etc. instead of cutting it near the edge which would leave a larger piece that might be used for another project. In this video it only happened on the first project, but I see it on many art & craft videos. On something with a sticky back, I rough cut it, then peal the backing off, rather than taking the backing off the entire piece which wastes the scraps. Even small scraps can be cut into rectangles, triangles, etc. to create a quilt-like pattern.
@yvonneschermerhorn866 Жыл бұрын
Yes, I noticed that on the first project, too. It drives me crazy when that is done. Also, not on this video, but I've seen ppl make a bow for a wreath or to wrap a package then cut the ribbon ends to make them shorter. It is a waste of ribbon!
