That is a nice vacuum there. The hepa filtration is always a good.thing Save the Ridgid for the liquids. That way you can always be sanding because that is so much fun !!!!

Thanks for the review and a good explanation of the vac but I use a downdraft table and don’t do any onsite work. My small festool vac does what I need when not using my DD table and for the domino machine. A good downdraft table only costs 11 times the price of the vac. But it was free to me.

At $700.00 it is way overpriced for me. I would rather buy a festool vac.

No splitter for vacuum or the electrical. Waiting 8 weeks called the company still out of stock. Brought Dewalt ss 16 gallon. Hepa filter and bags. $239 We use Festool sander with it.

Last I heard the POV-8 was in stock (before black friday at least...) I know they're working on a splitter for the electrical and vacuum hoses. Not sure when they'll be available though.

That vacuum SUCKS! Apparently, it does many other things too! Quite well I might add. I'm going to need to replace my nearly 43 year old Kenmore Powerspray vacuum & rug cleaner at some point, so I am looking at as many vacuum cleaners/dust extractors that I can before the motor finally quits working. Although at $699 for the POV-8, I don't know if I can swing it, even if the Kenmore miraculously lasts another 10 years. I could be being overly pessimistic though.

@@WoodshopMike Thank you, it does need some help. The motor makes a strange noise after it has been shut off as it winds down, mainly when I use it for dust collection though. When I use it as a vacuum only, it doesn't make that noise.

There are certainly festool vacs less expensive than this one, but I believe the ones that have the auto filter clean feature cost more than the surfprep. Am I mistaken? I do agree with you about the ergonomics though. I think the biggest pitfall of the POV-8 is no built-in storage solution for the hose.
