It’s so awesome to see you sharing your hard won knowledge as I continue to watch your videos I am gaining so many tips and tricks I spent years failing to match up the right sanding procedures with the best sand paper/ wood spices/ top coat’s and even orbital I think it takes experience to understand how much of a difference changing your sandpaper supplier can make so thank you for sharing more of your hard won knowledge 👍

Using the midi at the moment. Really like the compactness of it. I didn’t even attached the cord wrap in the rear, it all fits in the hose garage. If you have it in and out of the van, that really helps, specially with the cleaning kit in a small systainer box on top. Don’t know why they have cleaning filter push handle if they use a dust filter bag.

For all of you wasting money on expensive dust extractors get Karcher nt30 for $249 outperforms all of these and its built quality is better

I don't own either one but you talk about footprint it seems to me that the Festool has the hose and cord on it. If you were to put the hose and cord on the surf prep how big would the footprint be? Can you attach tools to the top of the surf prep? What is the warranty difference?

Eric did you quit with your videos? Are you still finishing for a living? I really enjoyed what you have done and it seemed like you were getting recognition from major manufacturers. I hope you fire back up the content.

Yes I am still doing it professionally. I have been so busy and moved my shop just no time for videos. It was just something I did for fun there isn’t any money in it. I am hearing back up again.

Appreciate the comparison, but the festool vacs are time tested and proven. I'm not so sure about the surfprep customer service being better than festool's. Festool's warranty is 3 years and includes wear and tear. I can't find any info on the surfprep vac warranty length or what that warranty entails. Personally, I've never needed to clean the midi filter yet, but I do only use it with festool's filter bags and for woodworking applications. I also can't find an exact CFM rating for the surfprep, and they list the bag capacity in weight, which isn't a very helpful metric. I know this all seems nitpicky, but these are the details potential buyers look for when we're about to drop $700+ on a dust extractor. Still, a helpful comparison.

I agree 100 percent and I pointed that out in the video that festool makes some of the best vacuums. Customer service and warranty’s are two different animals. You can have amazing warranty and still have terrible customer service. The warranty on the surfprep vac is 1 year. The cfm is 130. The capacity of the vacuum is 8 gallons but I realize the bag is smaller. Every potential buyer has different criteria on which they purchase tools.

I have no experience with Surfprep but I do with Festool. Bought an LR32 rail from them and found a slight tolerance issue in the detent holes. Sent them and email and they shipped me a replacement immediately no questions asked. I got to keep both. Also had a dealer who sold me the wrong saw blades and they sent me the right ones free of charge.

l would like to see a comparisom between a surfprep sander and a festool rts 400. I have the festool. I use it all the time for cabinets and everything else. But is the surf prep good enough to be worth the investment. I only do a four cabinet jobs a year. Thanks for your thoughts.
@ericreason65592 жыл бұрын
I don’t have a RTS 400. Not a huge fan of festool sanders but if your only doing 4 kitchen a year probably not worth the money

Good video, was hoping you would have opened them up and shown the different bags and filters as a comparison. Is there a reusable filter bag available like the festool has? Are the bag and filter replacement costs similar?

Surf prep is made in Italy not sure what the Warranty is.
@bobjohnson42902 жыл бұрын
I did some digging. They're actually made in China by a company called X'Pole. 1 year warranty that covers manufacturers defects. Festool warranty is 3 years and includes wear and tear.

@@bobjohnson4290 yes 1 year warranty but they are not made in China they are made in Italy.
