Excellent build. I am particularly impressed that you dare to test fly something in that most crappy flight area; trees, narrow, curved road, with vertical obsticals close to the road, power lines right over you---you are a good pilot with guts to test in those conditions.

I had the same thought...I only watched to the end to see if he could land it! When I maiden a 40'' wingspan scratch build I do so at a baseball field! And not in gusty weather either. Its risky to try a maiden like that...for the plane and your neighbors property. Not that even a plane that size weighs much, but you never no what it could hit if you lost control of it.

you love flying around those power lines. super responsible on your part.

Ahhhh grasshopper,.....the student has now become the master! Consider putting wing dihedral tips just like gliders have to give it some stability .
@SabrinaBraden-n7n11 жыл бұрын
Nice looking plane, some dihedral in the wing would tame it down to my speed.

Larger area on horizontal and vertical stabilizer might give you more flight stability. Just a suggestion. They just look small for that wing area.

Hehee! Looks like fun, but you could hardly have chosen a worse place for a landing strip! :¬D

you should add balsa wood onto the wings it make them really sturdy i built one same way but with balsa on the wings and styrofoam insulation in the middle

Wow its very good! And your landing awesome. I would never dare to maiden my airplane among trees and power cables. I crash them in the football field just fine. Would you happen to know Whats the wing loading of this airplane ? (weight / wing area)

any idea what the weight of the plane is....and what is the approx. thrust you get from that motor/prop combo?

A little close to the power lines IMO. Great plane.

hi im interested in recreating your rc airplane but i was just wondering how you created the remote controler? and how did you make it function accordingly to the motor in the place? whats the purpose for the carbon fiber?

That insulation foam has really good acoustic properties - people use it to make cheap DIY flat panel speakers! - so maybe it’s just amplifying the buzz of the motor in an interesting way?

Gives rc planes a bad name...not because of the build, but because you are flying over residents and peoples expensive property, no care for others, and a prototype untested plane at that, which clearly needed a safer testing zone.
