The one setting that I wish they had is for a way to turn off those stupid match making notices at the bottom left of the screen. I don't need to know every single time some comes in or out of the matchmaking screen when I can see it on the screen. Sometimes those notice go on for like a min after you left the match, they are just so annoying.

Best things I remapped (Xbox one): -Guard Break from X to R thumbstick -Cancel/feint from B to L thumbstick. Now I don't have to worry about moving my thumb from the movement sticks to guard break and cancel, makes them MUCH smoother and easier to use, before I hardly ever used feints because it was so difficult.

If you play with controllers try mapping you GB to your R-analog click and your feint to Square(ps4)/X(Xbox). Keeping GB on the R stick really helps with being able to move your guard while still having easy access to GB and/or softfeints without having to remove your finger. Having feint on the Square is purely for the reduced travel time your finger needs between buttons. This means you'll be able to feint in time for a baited parry more consistently, also it helps out with getting fancy with double or triple feints. It'll seem awkward at first but trust me this simple change makes more sense than the base button mappings

Easy zone attack : make your light and strong attack on the same button (as second option), ignore warning and you are good to go. Just adding advice, if somebody didn't notice (or is it lower on topic) ;-)

On console theres a glitch to increase your fov a tiny bit, you have to try using a cooldown type feat while it is cooling down. Idk why but its does expand your fov a bit but it will reset on death

To clarify on his wired/wireless tip at the end for PS4 players, it is okay to plug it in to charge it as the controller will still interact using wireless bluetooth and will only switch to wired input if you change it to do that in play station settings which doesn't work on original PS4s which use bluetooth even on wired setting. Tl;dr as long as your controller is wireless in settings it doesn't matter if it's plugged in or not.

Logically speaking, if you are going to dodge, you aren’t having to worry about your guard, so surely it makes more sense to make your LB control the feint instead? Especially since some characters can have very tight feint timings (I.e Kensei softfeint Ed side heavy and aramusha’s chain heavies).

Basically, it takes so many ms for it to recognize your input. So whatever your reaction time is+the time to press+the input delay=if you blocked fast enough or no.

I personally remapped the controller so guardbreak is to push in the right stick and Dodge is to push in the left stick. This helps for me as after I got used to it I could counter almost every guardbreak, and it gives me the ability to not have any input travel lag.

A wired playstation controller has more input delay than a wirless one, therefore its better to play wireless because the game will react faster to your inputs.

I'm pretty sure Playstation used bluetooth, which is different to Xbox controllers, which have their own system, which is a slight bit faster, compared to wired. I changed the deadzone a while ago because I kept missing blocks and parries that I was sure I hit perfectly. Changed the settings and got in a match. I felt like a god reacting to the opponent's attacks before they even moved. With my average at best reaction and playing on console it would be 100% impossible for me to block, let alone parry a 400ms attack with standart settings (no idea who thought it would be a good idea to set the default like it is). With almost no deadzone I can at least get rid of one delay

That's a bit tricky, you'd need to go through steam custom controller configurations. The tricky part is that steam custom config doesn't override in-game settings, so if you for example set Y button to do RB+RT it will trigger those and emote as well.

@@nije1x That part is not an issue, you can just start the game through steam by adding for honor as non steam game and it will work (as far as custom configurations are concerned). Here's what I did, on steam I remapped right stick click to RB+RT and in-game I changed target swapping (camera reset) on LB, active 1st feat to RS. This works fairly well because most characters use passive 1st feat (of course the problem with this one is that you can't active 1st feat if you play prior for example).
