I remember the first time figuring out how to parry light attacks i use to dominate at this game all the time i was getting 4v1 every match and bullied to ashes when i relised it was my deadzone holding me back i was on beast mode i felt so powerful 4v1 was easier than i couldve imagined now in for honor tho they took that power away from me by changing the combat style to smth that shouldnt be in the game love this video man great work

I have played for honor for about 2 weeks now and I have watched dozens of videos on how to parry and just could not understand wtf I was doing wrong…. I thought you had to use R1 to parry light and R2 to parry heavy only… I just watched this and went into a duel and won 3-0 parrying the dogshit out of my opp 😂 cheers bro

Good video but there's something incorrect in 1:56 : Orochi only doesn't have fast attacks, every characters lights since the CCU show up fast, 400ms to be exact. (Lights are 500ms attacks but indicator shows for 400ms for the opponent.) And some characters even have 300ms indicator attacks such as Tiandi chain lights and Berserker Heavy feint into light.

Even though I know controller deadzone is a thing. I usually perform better than average player but dont realize that deadzone is a hindrance that could improve my performance. And always leave it default an all my games. Bc of ur video made me realize I should always check this

Maybe its Nobushi(I’m new) specific but nobody ever seems to mention you have to flick the block stick in the right direction and press R2 at the right time to parry. Just pressing R2 at the right time does not work. At least not for me.

Still didn't find a single video that teaches how to throw a counter attack unblockable right after a heavy parry. I see max bots doing it all the time, but I cant figure out wtf they do to get in a very fast unblockable right after you throw a heavy attack and get parried. EDit: just discovered that you need to parry using RB then press RT just afterwards to do an unblockable.

Edit: For anyone else struggling, yes you have to wait for the directional indicator to blink So do I just have to wait for the directional indicator to blink? WHEN should I be pressing the parry button is what I think I'm getting hung up on. When I play warden, I've had my combo ender unblockabke heavies get parried, but when I try to do it against an enemy warden, I just flail at them like an idiot instead of catching their blade

Is it possible to option select lights? For example, im playing shinobi and his zone hits enemy left guard right? So the same way you option select unblockables if i were to do top guard and do a zone, if the enemy did a top or left light, it should parry it right. So its like a 2/3 chance that ur gonna get a light parry theoritically bcuz im not sure as i havent tried it out.

Yes you can option select lights but there’s no point

@@coneejo There is a point. You cover two options. For example, you are playing shinobi and shinobis zone always comes from shinobi's right guard(enemy's left guard). So lets say you put your guard on top and enemy does a light. If you do zone while having guard on top then you will parry the light if its top OR if its right guard light(since thats where shinobi zone comes from). But next season they're removing all option selects anyways.

You go really fast, it’s hard as beginner to understand everything you’re doing and all the terms in the moment. I understand the tip on dead zone, but I don’t think I understand the concept of when is best to parry vs dodge and how to know if it’s a light or heavy incoming - when to use a block break, how to counter a block break…

When the red indicator flashes and they're about to hit you, you have to press the heavy attack button. If it's timed right, you perform a parry.

Update, went into training mode. You need to be guarding from the side being hit or in full guard. Time R2 right and you can get the parry.

I’m gonna have to practice a lot with parrying, deflecting, and blocking unblockabels as well as doing side dodge attacks, could anyone give me tips on how to deal with orochis side dodge attack? The one where he spins and u can’t dodge because it tracks you I keep getting dogged by dogsh1t orochis who just spam this over and over, and also raiders how tf do I deal with raiders 😭 these scrubs use the easiest characters to play and then just spam the most broken attacks and combos where ur basically trapped once u get hit because your character has a stunned effect, and also nobush how tf do I get out of her stabs once she lands that one stab u can’t do shit ur character just continues to stumble until the combo is over I’m pretty sure it’s a light spam combo and it makes u bleed.

go into custom games/training or any mode of your choice and verse the characters that you have trouble dealing with. hopefully then you can kind of get the hang of how to beat these characters the most efficiently
