Outstanding breach, Mike! Im a poor, can't afford a titanium collapsible Haligan, but I make due with what we got. You demonstrated technique that gives a couple more inches where needed.

So if I wasn't limited to 1 tool than a set of irons would be preferred? Thanks again.

In my opinion yes - The 2 Halligan bars I would recommend are the ProBar and LeatherHead - The LeatherHead comes more refined and is a little less expensive than the ProBar. I have both and I prefer the LeatherHead Halligan a little more.

What is the best tool for law enforcement to carry?
@DALEGPEKEL8 жыл бұрын
Good question - A battering ram works great for inward opening doors, but is pretty much useless for outward opening. One of the reasons the "Irons" work so well together and why they are a staple for most fire departments is that when combined they give you both striking and prying ability. If you had to choose just one tool to carry, take a look at the "PIG" - Which is an 8lb flat head axe combined with a pick. Another alternative is the TNT Denver Tool, which has a variety of features combined together. Both allow the ability to both pry and strike, but neither are perfect for every situation - but no single tool is. The PIG has more weight at the head so it will do more damage than the Denver Tool. Good luck with your decision.

I'm the breech man on a prison cert team and we just got a set of irons and since I'm fire 2 certified I have the most experience but we have out-swinging door designed not to be easily breeched any tips

Outies are tough ones. Be sure to signal the swing to team. His downtwist method showed how to gain that extra inch

Is it good practice to shock the lock on an outward swinging door?
@somma46973 жыл бұрын
People have differing opinions in my opinion yes you should on a prop it doesn’t do anything in a real door if you shock the leading edge of the door it will crush it making it easier to gap that’s just my opinion try both methods if you have the opportunity
