Thank you so much for making this video. It is a wonderful complement to the beginner class I am taking where my instructor is teaching the 8 form too. Appreciate the mirror version. Elegant, graceful and easy to follow. I took a mixed level tai chi class a long time ago. It was stressful as I could not keep up and I stopped tai chi. You inspire me to continue and I agree with you - the focus for beginners at least should be on how it makes you feel. As we practice more, we can focus on the form and coordination of the breath with the body.

Thank you S D 😊 I'm so glad you've found this Eight Form practice of benefit for you and that it's encouraging you to try a Tai Chi practice again. We just need to find a teacher who resinates with us, maybe try a few instructors near to you and see if they work better for you ☯ I love to feel the flow of the practice first and then the detail will begin to fall in to place 🙏 Lily

That's very kind Peter, thank you. I'm sure you're practice will be better than you think. I try not to focus on the technical aspect so much as the feeling of the flow is more important. Every time we practice will be different, some days our mood is not right, we put a foot wrong or miss a piece of the practice entirely. I prefer to worry less now about the perfect performance of the form, but on how much better/calmer/happier I feel after the practice. Thank you so much for practicing with me 😊 Lily

You're welcome Rusty, I'm so glad you've been able to perfect your practice of the 8 Form Tai Chi, it is a really lovely practice 😊🙏 You're correct, even though the form is fixed in its movements, each teacher brings a little of their own personality or nuance to the practices. Wishing you health and happiness in your practice, Lily

I have noticed my body temperature rise after practicing 8 tai chi. I'm inside and my rhythm/speed is slow and easy. Yet I'm really warm. I've been practicing chi kung and tai chi 2 a day for 5 mths. Last several weeks is when I've noticed the rise in body heat. Is this build up chi?
@YogaLilyStudio2 жыл бұрын
@@rustykiley3577 - Yes, it is likely that as you are practicing regularly you are beginning to feel the flow of Qi (chi) through the body, you may be noticing heat in your hands in particular, also the feet and top of the head. These are the locations of the 5 major energy gates in the body. The energy you are generating will store at the dantian, located inside the lower abdomen, approximately 2 inches below the navel, which takes time to develop, which is what you are beginning to notice. Really well done for keeping such a regular practice. 🙏 Lily

I really want to learn Tai Chi but my mind is very slow and I can't remember the movements at all, not to mention I'm practicing alone at home because and I cant find a Tai Chi school near, she is pretty and her movements are very elegant

Thank you for practicing with me Fernando... The practices do take a little time to get used to. I find a good way to get your mind focussed on the movements is to start with the Cloud Hands practice - kzbin.info/www/bejne/oHi3d6RrrsZ0rbcsi=LMWNmNQZ6ecDnK0C Find time to practice the 8 Form every day, maybe slow the video speed down by clicking on the cog icon at the bottom of the video window. Take it slow and don't worry too much about getting the movement perfect, instead just focus on the flow and feeling of the moment. Practice is key 😊 Lily
