Peja would be about the same because of his time with the Kings. I am a Sacramento Kings fan and they played the high pick and roll that already freed guards and SF to drive to the basket or work the backdoor game. It's the Princeton offense. If he was on the current rockets he would have been nice but more of a three point shooter than driving the basket. .. due to Harden driving dominant. He is still a SF even though Andy says PF. He was not a stretch 4.

@flappyturtle4727 жыл бұрын
+WormChemistry "His handles were nice for his time but pretty elementary for today's standards" Disagree, but if he WAS born in this era, don't you think his handles would be advanced like other guards? And it's about work ethic, he's an unathletic white guy who is only 6'5. He could have very well been an accountant. What separates him from other people of the same height is that he worked extremely hard. He'd work just as hard today and he'd have better equipment, better coaching, he'd be able to copy moves from so many players since many had great handles, he'd have better nutrition, he'd have a better diet, he'd have a lot more things to work from, he'd have better drills for practicing shooting etc. I think that his handles are some of the best ever not just for his time. Also, there were a lot more dribbling rules back then. Isaiah Thomas is a player that carries a lot (so is Kevin Durant) but it doesn't get called unless it's blatant and game-changing. That's fine. I'm not going to knock Isaiah, he's a really good player. It was just stricter back when he played. They'd call shooting fakes as well (like the ones Curry does) because they think it's double dribble. So Pete Maravich was kind of restricted.

@beezzus867 жыл бұрын
Frank Banks WHAT?!?! Brad Miller was a dead eye mid range jump shot!!! Bro, before I was a D Rose fan, I was a Brad Miller fan and one thing that made him difficult to guard was his ability to hit outside shots. And I’m not comparing to Gasol so stop it right now lol. No I’m only joking, but if we’re comparing, of coarse Gasol is the better player. Better passer. Better scorer. Better defender. But they are deffs one in the same class. It’s like comparing Lebron to Magic Johnson from me saying “before there was LBJ there was a Magic”.

+Tod Wilkinson I think you're full of shit. I'm 37-years-old and I actually watched Jordan play religiously. You're probably a 20-something who watched Jordan play like two games and think he's some special guy that is above the millennials who love the current game. Do you know how I know that? Because you're literally making shit up to drive your narrative. A source from 2015 says the games last 137 (2 hours and 17 minutes) on average. In 2014, it was 2 hours and 14 minutes. It's around the same right now. I was alive back then and watched. I remember that if a game lasted 2 hours and 30 minutes, I'd be like "well that was fucking long". So they probably lasted about the same amount of time. Back then, there would be fights as well which would prolong the game. BTW, games nowadays last 160 minutes in the playoffs/postseason. So don't make shit up, you shitfuck.

Yeah, now it's more like college ball on steroids. Pick and roll, switch on D, shoot the 3. Back in the day, it was which team had the best superstars that will carry the team to victory. I like that, more of a gladiator feel than today's sissy little balls balls.

I've been saying this repeatedly since I began watching and studying the NBA for about 35 years... those player of the year awards, all NBA awards, and mvps have got to go... those meaningless accolades are the primary reasons as to why so many NBA legends in the past are over looked and underrated by fans today... the typical NBA fan (especially new NBA fans that lack experience) base their entire arguments on these accolades that really lack significance... they are compromised primarily on just box score statistics, popularity, annual salaries, and pure subjectivity/ bias... it BARELY considers player dominance and does not take into account advanced metrics whatsoever... it's ridiculous and absurd when you hear kids these days say that specific legends are overrated because they never won mvps or they didn't have enough all NBA selections

My top 5 would be: 1. Tracy McGrady - He's a great scorer, like KD and has an insane athleticism. 2. Allen Iverson - This guy would average 40 PPG in today's NBA. 3. Tony Kukoc - like peja, he can space the floor, better defender and can defend multiple positions bec. of his length versatility. 4. Chris Webber - He's game is like of Anthony Davis, versatile and a great post up, perimeter shooter, also can defend different positions. 5. Steve Nash - Well, he helped revolutionized the game, but seeing him in today's NBA would be fun.. Him running the gun and run offensive plays of either Warriors or the Rockets would be a fun to watch!
@M0ebius7 жыл бұрын
Wow. This whole list consists of some of my favorite players. Pretty much everyone but Bruce Bowen. Andrei Kirilenko, Lamar Odom, and Shawn Marion would be perfect today. Mark Price is the proto-Steve Nash, who in turn is the proto-Steph Curry. The only one I really disagree with is Dennis Rodman, since it seems like his lack of any offense what-so-ever would be an enormous detriment to his team.

Rik Smits, Anthony Mason, Rod Strickland, Kenny Anderson, Rafer Alston, Allan Houston, Drazen Petrovic, and I know these guys are already considered the greatest players ever but I have to add Isiah Thomas and Allen Iverson, especially Isiah. He played in such a physical nba and still produced at a tremendous level for his size.

I love watching Allen Iverson, but no way he would better in modern nba than in his era.
@Brooklyn112366 жыл бұрын
Tun Huang yes he would’ve. His era was a much more physical era. That’s why he earned the reputation of a fearless player because he went in to the paint strong against stronger players. I could tell you’re a young dude, watch more basketball
@cuuy6 жыл бұрын
Iverson benefitted from the old illegal defence rule / iso ball, so he just had to beat one guy to the rim, and he wasn't an efficient scorer. Just look at Monta Ellis career. Of course Iverson was better, but he still would face similar difficulties and that the teams today are not built around this kind of players.

Haha, before watching the video, I knew AK47 would be on the list! Thanks for giving props to my favorite player! It would be cool if you could do a more in depth video on him and his career, definitely one of the most underrated players ever and one of the most unique combinations of skill, athleticism, and an insane feel for the game. He came into the league when European players were just known as "non athletic shooters", and he was quite literally the opposite! Freak athlete with long arms who blocked centers and stole from guards, made ridiculous passes and putbacks, and would score in the most unorthodox ways, etc. He was truly fun to watch!

Antoine Butler That’s what I’m saying Ray Allen played in a era of heavy isolation and contested mid range jumpers and inefficient scoring, now with the spacing in today’s game he would be allowed to shoot 10-12 threes a game. Ray would’ve shot just as good as Steph.

Marion was a great wing defender but Draymond a legit DPOY canidate every year and now a winner of it. He's consistently a great playmaker for the warriors and he's a decent scorer in spotsm Marion is much better at scoring but Draymond does all the other stuff besides scoring that wins games
