Wilt is like Paul Bunyan. He said he could bench press 600 pounds! Was a world class track athlete. Led the league in assists in 1968 with a stat line of 25-25-8 and who knows how many blocks, average 48 minutes a game in 1962 for a center. Most impressive was that he could still play and was in great shape well into his 40s. Blocked all of Magic’s shots in a pick up game. Average 50 a game, had 55 rebounds against Bill Russell. Slept with 20000 women. This guy is the freak of all freaks.

@@tjjohal3375 True, but that doesn't diminish the athlethic abilities of Wilt: moves like those at 8:30 of this video have nothing to do with opponents and shoes and floors materials have come a long way since then. While Wilt was in college he tried athlethics and was so good that he was suggested to do... DECATHLON! Unfortunately, his size prevented him to do pole vault safely (poles were made of simple wood back then) so he gave up (and ended up in the Harlem Globetrotters).

Dude was an olympic level high jumper in college 7th best in the world, was one of the top 10 440 yard dash runners in the world in college, could dead lift over 800 lbs and even Wilt Chamberlain said Bill was stronger and faster than him. The dude was 6'11 by today's measure with shoes standards, insanely fast, had a 45 plus vertical and one of the strongest players ever to play. Bill gets no love.

Wilt was absolutely the biggest freak of nature the NBA has ever seen. The guy was ridiculously insane. Apparently in Highschool he did high jumping, and if I remember correctly, he even broke a high jumping record. So that 48-54 inch vertical thing was far from an exaggeration. Imagine someone who's 7'1, has a 7'8 wingspan, and who could jump 4 feet in the air. The guy was insane. And he was widely considered to be one of the strongest players in the history of the NBA. Even Arnold fucking Schwarzenegger in his prime, said that he'd never seen anything like what Wilt was able to do when they worked out together. And keep in mind, this was Wilt in his 40s. Former Bulls head coach, Johnny Kerr was even quoted as saying "people talk about the strength of Shaq, I think Wilt could have picked up Shaq and thrown him through the hoop." Obviously that was a bit of an over exaggeration, but it just goes to show the amount of sheer physical dominance Wilt exerted that he could easily convince those who saw him play that he was strong enough to dominate Shaq.

The guy is a monster and definitely the best freak of nature in nba history but like literally just using common sense there’s no way a lot of these anecdotal things are true. Don’t get me wrong he probably was strong as hell but cmon dude anyone can tell that. Plus Shaq weighs at least 35 or more pounds and that helps being in post. If the 2 we’re backing each other down there’s no doubt in my mind shaq could push him under the bucket
@JG124_

@@CW-hq2qr You'd be surprised. Shaq was heavier, but Wilt was ridiculously strong. A lot stronger then you'd think just by looking at him. I mean the stories may be anecdotal, but there are so many of them, and all of them were told by people who were actually there to see it in person. And a lot of them Wilt even confirmed himself. I think Wilt is 100% stronger than Shaq.
@ShinetheLightofTruth
@ShinetheLightofTruth 5 жыл бұрын
I have to disagree. Wilt could bench 100 pounds more that Shaq ever did. His real playing weight was around 305. Shaq was awesome to watch as well, unfortunately, Wilt played in an era where people considered him a freak and rooted against him. He was literally Goliath and that is why he played a finesse game instead of breaking backboards. Wilt in his prime would have blocked 50% of shaq's shots and on offense would have given Shaq the bump then fade a way off the backboard and scored 50 on him. Along with 30 rebounds.

D rose's career started in 2011, and ended in 2011.. he practically ended his own career with injuries .. He will never be the top 5 PG of all time people thought he would be
@luketatkins
@luketatkins 5 жыл бұрын
@@coalChamberr No. DRose's career started in 2007 when he carried a Memphis team to the NCAA final + statistically one of the greatest teams in college basketball history. It continued in 2008 when he was the #1 pick in the NBA draft, then in 2009 when he won ROTY at just 20. Then he was an All Star in 2010, MVP in 2011, and his 2012 All Star year was almost as good as MVP year but then he got injured in the playoffs. That's 5 full seasons of DRose killing it man. Also one of the best high school players of all time. Obviously he's not top 5 PG ever due to his knees but that doesn't change that he's one of the greatest freaks to ever play in the NBA. The shit he did while healthy was ridiculously athletic

If derick rose still had healthy knees Im pretty sure he would be the most athletic player in the league right now. The mean was an absolute beast but hey injuries are something no one can predict or control

Johonan andrew gomes lol who said that last time I checked he said that around coming back from missing an entire year in 2012-2013 and I’m not throwing any shade but that’s a LONG time ago and while I love Derrick, if he had a 47 inch vertical I think he still wouldn’t show it just because he’s too weary of getting injured

Ked Drew he said in 2015 that he increases his vert by 3 inches. By then he already had a 43 inch vert. Also you are right he is more cautious to use his athleticism to protect himself.

Johonan andrew gomes you’re right, you know I read a video that a good way to jump higher is too run faster and bring all of the motion upwards so it is very possible that if he can regain SOME of his former speed that he just might be able to jump hella high
