Durant and Westbrook. A duo that had chances multiple times to win the title. That 2012 run was crazy. Got past the Lakers, Got past the heavily favored Spur’s, and than they ran into a juggernaut in the Miami Heat. Fast forward to 2016. They were matched up with arguably the greatest team to ever assemble in the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference Final’s and they crumbled. And we all know what happened next. The Sonics' general strategy throughout that series was to rotate different defenders on MJ every few minutes. Contrary to popular belief, GP was already included in the defensive rotation by Game 3, and directly caused more disruptions against MJ's best game of the series than on Father's Day when MJ did well against GP but struggled against the other Sonics. However, GP deserves significant credit for setting the defensive tone in Game 4, while MJ bounced back in Game 5 despite the loss. Overall, MJ's averages in that Finals is actually comparable to Kobe's Finals career averages.

Charles Barkley, Kevin Johnson, and a loaded roaster could had easily won a championship that year but MJ was playing his best basketball ever then and he was averaging 41ppg, and even with this it was still a 6 game series. Sir Charles said that he wasn’t mentally ready for game 1 of that series and he takes full blame for the game 1 loss. Suns had home field that night too and If Charles had a better game 1 and if John Paxson never hit a game-winner on game 6 then the Suns could’ve been champs in 93. They will face the Spurs in WCF, which would be an epic battle (they tied 2-2 in regular season). If they manage to survive spurs (unlikely but not impossible), then all they need to do is to just swipe the cavs easily and win the ring. In hindsight, 2007 could be the year.

Dude so many people sleep on Luis Scola but he was the man, on the rockets and those pacers teams where he would back up David west, man those pacers teams deserved a title.

James Harde, Russell Westbrook, and KD all played on the same team at one point, and still never won a title

they face the big 3 of miami they were a young promising team thunder

Harden would've never meshed with KD and Russell for many more years. His true potential would've never shown. Those Thunder teams also had great role players. Definitely could've made many runs if they could put aside their egos and need to pad stats
