Another reference is that when Eurydice and Orpheus talk to each other after retuening from the Underworld Eurydice asks Orpheus to look at her and he refuses before eventually doing wht she asks. This is a reference to the original myth where Orpheus was told to journey back to the mortal realm while Eurydice followed behind him without turning back to check if she was still there.

Some weeks ago, I was asked for permission to have Darkness song appear in a new Netflix series, which I said yes to, and continued with my life, completely forgetting about it. Then, some days ago, I eagerly sat down to watch this new series - Kaos - where Jeff Goldblum plays Zeus (count me in 🙌🏼) I watched the first episode and when the song started playing, I was like… wait a minuuuute… I know that song… Sometimes it’s good to have shitty memory… thanks to the music supervisor and creators of the show for taking my music into your creation.

Fun fact: When Eurydice and Orpheus get back to Earth from the Underworld, Eurydice begs Orpheus to look back at her but Orpheus refuses. This is a nod to the original myth when Orpheus could not look back to see if Eurydice was following him until he got out of the Underworld.

I love the touches of everything, especially in the secondary stuff: people love to talk about the peacocks, but I love how Ippolita has one breast, because Amazons thought it was better to cut one to improve their archery skills. Or the fact that Dyonisus is... not drunk. "He's the wine god", yeah but he's not a hiccupping drunk fatso, it's actually quite cold.

Bit of a hat-trick there. Zeus was the youngest the first time, until he saved his siblings and they are reborn, making them younger.

Here’s my thoughts on the show. There were a lot more interesting symbolism Dion’s shirt ep1 had the horned goat or Baphoment. Baphomet,has been portrayed as a synonym of Satan or a demon, a member of the hierarchy of Hell. Also the connection to harvesting humans for their energy. Sounds familiar? Kind of the way we live now being consumed by the big corps (gods) who control everything! Food for thought. Great show but a mirror into who we are today being harvested, manipulated by the powers that be. But most will not see this…..

1. Pretty sure that goat was the Satyr Silenus, not Baphoment. Silenus was Ds mentor when he was hidden from Hera 2. The soul stealing definitely stood out to me since that is the biggest departure from any of the classic stories. Certainly read as the modern allegory you describe. The gods drank amber and were naturally immortal. They required adoration and worship, which could be akin to giving up the soul, but souls were not consumed like this. Unfortunately, this was my least favorite part of the show. So much of the show is very creative, but the underworld and the soul sucking is a bit cliche, played out and derivative. The least creative twist of the show.
