These advanced English idioms are not just for Halloween. You may find them gruesome and horrific if you think about the literal meanings, but they are common in everyday English.

Idioms are so cool! They're a nice way to learn not only culture, but also history. Which, by the way, are inseparable😊. Love your videos 👏🏻

What a special edition of idioms!!! You rock! I love idioms, because they make my English colorful. Plus, their difference or sometimes similarity comparing to my own language is interesting 😊

I agree. Idioms are fun to learn, but, more importantly, useful for advanced learners to understand the culture of the language they're studying.

Thanks Ben! In Russian we have literally the same idiom about dead body, it says "only over my dead body". It's interesting that "only" part is required in Russian but not in English. Also, the idiom number 7 about stabbing has it's twin in Russian. No other idioms have similar phrases in Russian. We only say about someone "he has a hot blood" meaning he has a hot temperament.

Thank you for providing invaluable information! I have a question: In the CPE Report, is it acceptable to write the name of subheadings of the first and last paragraphs as simply "Introduction" and "Conclusion"?
@tothepointenglishwithben.

Yes. Those subheadings are appropriate for the report

I've tried to add a comment with two more idioms but it's getting repeatedly removed. Presumably by the YT algorithm as it contains horrific phrases.
