A pottery wheel with a lapidary disc for grinding is a great idea. I’m getting a cheap one to make into a knife sharpener. Maybe I’ll even make a cup and explore pottery?👍

Thanks. I can't remember the name of it I just picked whatever strongest one I could find in the store. It worked well so far.

This is very helpful! Thank you. I’d like to know what grit you use. Do you use these to grind glaze off the bottoms of you have a drip? Thanks so much.

Thanks. This is a 80
@askeletalghost2 жыл бұрын
great vid, they do so many different grit levels, my instinct was to get the 240 but you seem to really like the 80... im now thinking of getting an 80 and a 400 for finishing, any thoughts on this?
@deMibPottery2 жыл бұрын
I think 80 grit for this is perfect. I only use it to remove big things that is too hard to do by hand. If I then, after this, need a finer grind I just do it by hand with a diamond grinding sponge :-)

Great video, thank you. I noticed you had clay in your tray. Do you just allow the dust from grinding to live with the clay and then recycle it all (wondering what that does to your reclaimed clay)?

Thanks. No, that goes to waste :-)

hi so you use glue to attach the disc ?, isn’t it a pain when it’s time to replace them for a new one ?
@deMibPottery2 жыл бұрын
This one have lasted a very long time. When I have to replace it I just buy or make a new bat. These bats are very cheap - just abut $10 :-)

You find a wooden bat works as well as a plastic bat? Thanks!
@deMibPottery Жыл бұрын
I never used plastic bats. The wooden batts I use for stoneware works great for me
