Wow, it was 12::30 last night and I felt wide awake. I thought I was going to have to take a sleeping pill, which I hate taking. I put this on and I don't even remember falling asleep. Scott has the perfect voice for this. Amazing.

The last thing I remember, which is an inmdication as to how far I got into this before I fell asleep was the 7 Universal Expressions. Such as Fear, Happiness, contempt, anger, etc. Then I was out like a light. Truly amazing. Bye bye sleeping pills.

This is fantastic. Normally I cannot do recordings because my brain ends up looking for the loop and then counts how long the loop is, and that makes me more alert. Yours had me sleeping so soundly, the sleep app looked like I flatlined. You also could see I was restless when I bumped YT and it was off for an hour. You have made me a believer, and I trust you to talk to me when I am asleep!

I have struggled sleeping since I was in the first year of high school, back then it was really bad dreams, that I had over an over agein, then after the my divorce from my ex i would wake up screaming in a cold swet the psychologist said i had ptsd, not gonna go into that, then i started with anxiety. Scott you do have a very relaxing voice it really does help me. Thank you. I'm sure other people who have anxiety would say the same, I was just about drifting off to sleep and my asthma Started up an I'm wheezing , so I had to take my headphones off and get a drink of water. An that is why I'm typing this , hope you don't mind?

@@ScottRouse thank you for taking the time to read my comment. I would normally I would agree with you. Unfortunately I have a hearing problems. Not sure if it is age related or due too health related issues regarding my personal circumstances. I'm waiting to be seen by my Neurosurgical specialist for a large benign bone tumour on my forehead. It affects my vision for definite, as my eyes aren't level. Tbh with you, I'm truly scared of what having the operation would risk, as I love art and from what I'm told I'm pretty good. Well as Mr Spock would have said, live long and prosper. 🙂

I usually listen to a podcast or book to fall asleep but this is way more relaxing. And, just saying, while I’m asleep if you tell my slowing metabolism to get it together and speed up, I’m totally fine with that 🤣 Have a good one!

People often retain more information and better focus in a deep relaxed sleep than they do in a normal waking state where they might be distracted and uncomfortable.

Mr Rouse, are you familiar w “Hemi-Sync” music? Where two slightly different tones are used. One tone in the left ear, and a slightly different tone in the right ear. The two different tones stimulate “Hemispheric Synchronization” in the two hemispheres in the brain. The result is supposedly a focused attention in a state of deep relaxation.

Hopefully listening to this while I sleep will NOT make me blurt uncontrollably things like "there are 6 types of lies" in the middle of corporate meeting tomorrow 😂 On a more serious note, this is incredibly well done, Scott. Some parts remind me a bit of those EDM songs from 2010s that were a mix of chillstep music and Alan Watts' speeches. PS. WHOA, there's even cat purring!

I'm one of those folks who dislikes recorded water sounds, yet I love the sound of our aquariums delicately bubbling and fizzing around my house, I love sitting on the beach listening to the ocean, I love climbing rocks deep out into the ocean where surges hit the rocks and throw waves and spray multi stories high up into the air with a mighty sound. And yet I can't abide recorded water sounds 🤔 Same with wind chimes. I cannot listen to recordings of them but I'll spend ages in a shop that has a selection of them trying every single one, just about hypnotised, and if I find one with that magical sound it comes home with me and it's added to my collection enhancing my outdoor orchestra. I think it's because sounds instigated by nature have an enormous variety of tones and they don't loop, quite often sounds are recorded in short bites that are repetitively looped in sleep videos. A version with just a voice would be great for my brain type, I have a bunch of spoken stuff downloaded that runs all night. Wonder if anyone else is like me and has an aversion to certain things in sleep vids? There's so much on offer and I love the way that there's probably something out there for everyone, quirky aversions and all.

The progressive relaxation techniques you use are similar to what I personally use. However, I start at the toes and feet and work up to the head, ending with my face and eyes. You are using conscious control of your body and letting it go slowly. But this is using your brain, which is in your head. If you have "closed down" the rest of your body, by the time you get to your face and eyes, your brain too is ready to close down to consciousness. That being said, I have to admit that listening to you on TBP and your own channel, I have thought your vice soothing. Thank you for these videos. One major issue i found: the birds chirping. For some reason, this sound is agitating to me. I might have to look into this with my therapist. Until tomorrow, good night!

I like the tone of your voice, Scott, but there's too many conflicting background noises that are distracting me. The running water just sounds like a tap I forgot to switch off or a faulty toilet flush. Simpler, less intrusive, background noise and this would do it for me. Unfortunately, due to that, it's a no from me.
