Great stash there! Spirits 12 Dreams is easily my favorite of their 4 classic records. It gets 5 of 5 stars by most fans. Truly great album beginning to end. Jazzy & psychedelic. Mr. Skin was a radio hit here in 1973. Quicksilver Messenger: the best of the 60's jam bands (they only had 2 albums out before they changed their sound) Happy Trails was a staple of FM radio here on the west coast in the late 1960's to early 70's. One of the ultimate stoner records of my youth. I've dug it for 50 years now, it never gets old. I occasionally find copies of this record and give them to younger collectors. Later they tell me how much they loved discovering it and their friends got into it too. James Gang Rides Again: the hardest version to get is the one with Walsh covering Ravels 'Bolero' during The Bomber - in between Closet Queen and Cast Your Fate To The Wind. The Bolero segment was cut out shortly after the albums release due to copyright issues so most pressings lack it. It eventually showed up on later pressings and the CDs. I think it 'makes' the song. Nuthin Fancy is great as well. My 2nd favorite Skynrd album. Second Helping blew me away first time I heard the whole album. The band was firing as we say 'on all 8 cylinders' when they made that one.

Hi there, thank your for the overview/ review! I knew that Quicksilver was quite a thing back then. Unfortuanetly I dont think they ever got a big fan base here in Germany. But as you said: Happy Trails is a classic and a great record to listen to. Also I didn't know about the James Gang variation of Rides Again.
