Right st1ker. How to get an A on night's. Play like normal...Once you've got the orb thingy DONT hit the night's gate. Instead FLY over it and do the course over and over until you nearly run out of time THEN fly into the gate.... That's the addicting factor of Nights...racking up the score with what time you have left by not completing until the very last second.

I'm actually surprised I didn't know about a few of these, NiGHTS was my SHIT in high school, even got me into studying dreams and psychology. Though, the only entries here I was unaware of were the official website games and the slot machine. I really like the art used for the slot machine though, it's the Journey of Dreams NiGHTS design but it uses detailed 2D art instead of the 3D renders you only ever see of that design, and it looks really nice. Makes me appreciate that design more, even if I'll always prefer the original into Dreams look, creepy flesh hands and all.

Take a look at some footage of Phosphor (the multiplayer first-person shooter) for an idea of what Shockwave was capable of back in 2005. :) Good job getting such an ancient game up and running! I bought a cheap loose copy of Sega Superstars for my PS2 assuming it would be a collection of old Sega titles so was surprised when it was a bunch of EyeToy minigames, but the NiGHTS one was indeed good fun. I'll need to track down a copy of Sonic Pinball Party too, that looks great!

Stika, here is some advice on NiGHTS: when you first appear on the first level, and you're elliot, walk around the level and avoid the clock and collect the blue things FROM THE GROUND. Once you have 20, go to the gazebo and be NiGHTS. Destroy the thing right away, and spend the rest of the first level getting bonus and making chains. You will get an A for the first level at least, and it will make the rest of the level get a better average score

Not to take anything a way from the gameplay, but maybe basing a game franchise around a harlequin inspired by Jung's concept of the Shadow wasn't the best commercial decision... And it's definitely not a mistakeYuji Naka would make again🙄

Unfortunately I've been a big fan of NiGHTS since JoD released and the NiGHTS fan community was tightknit and scoured and shared every reference, product, datamine, etc. that NiGHTS had to offer so sadly nothing new for me today :P

I’m a be honest. Those “bad” ports are just exposing how lame and boring the main game is. I don’t understand the hype for this game. I remember playing it in the 90s. I was drawn in by the hype and marketing of all the game magazines at the time. I was so excited that first hour. But the longer I played the more I realized there wasn’t much to this game. The bosses added a little bit of variety but overall I felt like the industry had oversold me in this. The graphics were impressive for the time but the game itself was so uncompelling. I didn’t event bother past the second boss. I wish the music was better too. Let me correct that. The music isn’t bad I just… I dunno I’m not into it. Thank God I also had Sonic R. Once you get used to the handling in Sonic R it’s a LOT of fun. Also the music is godly.

ah it's different. What I mean is, because the 32-bit generation used CDs, there's no type of sound that you'd associate with 32-bits ^^
@a2lan123
@a2lan123 Жыл бұрын
@@st1ka Well that's where I disagree, except for the CD audio part. There were some pretty popular synths, such as Korg's M1 and 01W or the Roland Sound Canvas and JV series, or even sample CDs a la X-Static Goldmine. Those synths and samples all contributed to pretty distinct sonorities, although those sonorities are even more distinct between publishers and composers, like example the reliance Capcom had on the S-50. So in theory it's not that hard, you use the SNES samples, you backtrack to their sources so you have higher quality samples, you slap those on a midi of yours, add some optional effects and voila! (though it's more complex than that in practice)
