Lots of great homebrews out there. I am working on my own port of Keystone Kapers for Intellivision, hope to complete it soon :)

It's perfect now! :) btw. Sydney Hunter and the shrines of peril was the first of quite a lot of Sydney Hunter games by Collectorvision for consoles up to the Nintendo Switch.

Thanks, and thanks for the heads-up! I've been so busy with my book I barely skimmed the edit my editor sent me. Lesson learned!

Cote Gamers released Maria which is a cool grid based RPG action game! Also he Kai Magazine released games are amazing as well. I really enjoyed TNT Cowboy and still trying to play through a Tale of Dragons and Swords.

Great video, and great homebrew games Brett! There are at least a few here I wasn't previously aware of. I can emulate Brickout via my AtGames IntelliVision Flashback, and even reviewed it on my channel a bit back.

5:20 Well for starters, I finished FUBAR and released it through Intellivision Revolution a couple years ago.

Thanks so much for making this vid! I’ve played the Brickout and DK II homebrews, but wasn’t familiar with the others. Copter Command, Space Patrol and Space Raid all look absolutely amazing!

Haven't messed with a lot of Intellivision homebrews sadly, but my favorite game is definitely Night Stalker. I'm probably a lot younger than a lot of your viewers (25) so my first exposure to it was on an Intellivision Plug and Play in the early 2000's...but it's usually the first game I go to whenever I fire up the Intellivision Lives! compilation disc for PS2/XBOX.

Cool! Night Stalker rocks!

19:22 Probably my favorite go-to homebrew game is Ms. Pac-Man, with Super Chef BT a close second. Among the originals, one of my favorites remains AD&D Cloudy Mountain.

You figure programmers have now had about 40 years to really learn the secrets of these old systems AND they have no time constraints to craft their programs, so it's no wonder that these homebrew games are getting better and better. Makes you really appreciate the games that came out in the early days when the programmers were just learning these systems AND had severe time constraints to create them. And to add even more complexity, they had little more than graph paper and a calculator to help them! Hats off to all those guys and gals.

16:50 I'll point out that since the Intellivision can only handle 8 sprites, the DK Arcade games simulate extra sprites through multiplexing. Some of the barrels seem to disappear because only when playing the game do you see the gameplay at 60 FPS.

The Zaxxon clone for the Inty is just awesome. I bought the Colecovision version for Mattel back in 1984 and it was simply lame. Guess Coleco wanted to make damn sure none of its best games looked anywhere near ok on other Systems, just think at Donkey Kong. Ciao!

I just picked up Intellivania and Go-Sub Physical and Digital Copies. Go-Sub is free now as a ROM from the developer and Intellivania can be purchased as a ROM to play on something like the Wii with Homebrew or on a Raspberry Pi 4B 8GB in the Vilros keyboard/touchpad hub with an 8bitdo N30 wireless mouse. I run Berryboot Lakka and Berryboot Retro Pi mostly. I have a TandyVision One Intellivision Clone from Radio Shack I have but the Wii and Raspberry Pi sure make things easier. The Raspberry Pi 400 is a cute little system you can run Berryboot Retro Pi on as well. Modern controllers make all the difference in the world.

Better games nowadays are mostly due to more ROM space available. Early games were 4K in size, while many games are 7-10 times in size before bankswitching, plus are 16-bit as opposed to 10-bit. JLP makes a big difference too, because it allows for saving through EEPROM, plus a lot of extra 16-bit memory, and real-time multiplication and division.

My favorites, along with the top 3 you mentioned are Super Chef BT, Ms. Night Stalker and Ms. Pac Man. I don't know if you can get the carts easily or not, but the roms of all 3 are purchasable through their creators for a reasonable price.

Is there a cheat code for DK2 Arcade Arcade? I noticed Mario was not dying when he got hit by barrels , fire balls and Pies. How come you did not say that the Non Standard Intellivision style cartridges look like Activision style cartridges? In Xmas Carol I hate it when that damn ghost steals all your presents especially when you have only one left to collect, why couldn't they make it so he only steals one of have it on easier difficulty settings he only steals one? I wish you could kill the snow man instead of just stunning him because if he is real close to you he can still kill you easily.
