The AK5 is not a Kalashnikov whatsoever or related to it, just has a similar name. The AK5 is more closely related to the FNC carbine

I'm just wondering why the AK5c is in this list. the "AK" in the AK5 is an acronym for Automatkarbin, not Avtomat Kalashnikov.

Indeed. It is a Swedish rifle. It is a license produced version of FN FNC. Its designers received no inspiration or technical assistance from Mikhail Kalashnikov or any other Soviet weapon designer. But lets forgive Pancuronium some minor mistakes. I find his videos highly useful. They help me avoid wasting my time with bad quality weapon mods that look great at first in Nexusmods.

AKC and its pistol are actually part of the combined arms pack as well. Everything in that mod has tons of customization, even on Xbox.

I just found this channel. I like that the videos are critical of the mods that are out there. Too many Fallout youtubers are all "this is better than vanilla" when they actually have busted anims and balancing. Liked and subscribed!

Well but it's sadly true for 90% of all cases- ok accept maybe for damage. But honestly Bethesda's balancing is terrible, too, not only for weapons but also for enemies. Look at the weapons alone, they are mostly just hybrids of weird abdominations and oversized on purpose because you're supposed to play in Power Armor all the time originally... Let's even not talk about the laziness of weapon sounds and animations after all. Best example the the vanilla "assault rifle" that they call. It may not clipping in power armor or else, but for this lazy half a*sed animations it's not difficult to make it non clipping- while you saw the handmade rifle grenade throwing animations are super buggy at all, and bethesda never fixed it... That's soo typical Bethesda. So they are still correct, even if the custom weapons are not 100% and clipping a bit or alike, it's so often still better than vanilla. You can call that already evidence of incapacity.

AK5C is a licence produced FN FNC, not an AK47 platform weapon. So doesn't even belong on this list, you'd be better adding the Galil mod, as at least the Galil is related to the AK47.

For a AK-112 mod, I would recommend instead the mod AK-112 FO1 Inspired Gun by Micalov. Unlike the 112 you reviewed its instead more of a inspiration of what it could have looked liked in Fallout 4. The design is much better looking and still looks different from the Nuka World Handmade Rifle.

Zenit is the one I use most when I'm doing a WWII/Soviet playthrough. That, and a Makarov and MP-412 mod.

Love the video, as always the reviews were pretty on-point. Even when not doing an active these have become an instant click. It does suck to see how they massacred ma boi in the AK-112 (because it would certainly be interesting to see someone actually adapt it a bit better), though. Is worth mentioning, though, the AK5C is not a Kalashnikov rifle (as I believe has already been pointed out elsewhere), and in its designation, the "AK" stands for Automatkarbin, or (you guessed it) automatic carbine. Still a pretty cool gun, though, and one that I do think a lot of Kalash enjoyers would appreciate.

Yeah, in hindsight I should've realized that the AK5C looks a lot more like an FN FNC than any AK. But I don't know very much about guns, especially not obscure ones.

@@PancuroniumB Honestly it's perfectly fine, like I said it's still a neat gun that I think even the people who came looking for a Kalashnikov rifle would genuinely appreciate (and I haven't seen it mentioned for a while, elsewhere, so I'm betting more than a few people who would've been interested in it genuinely just didn't know it was still around), and most people who aren't arms nerds can't necessarily trace any particular gun's ancestry.

i love your videos. most of the time i already have some of the mods in my MO2 folder but its great to learn about what issues they have so i know if they are worth using or not. i never use PA tho so most of the time i never notice the power armor problems lol

No mention about Combined Arms AK? Its has the same AKM, AK74M and Krebs AK mods included alongside extra attachments exclusive to Combined arms. The Combined arms creator worked alongside with fx01 before which is why its he included it in his mod.

AKM complex is the standalone version of the Combined Arms AKM

All I want is an AK mod that allows me to make a true RPK-74M with the polymer furniture, including the clubfoot stock, a 1P78 optic and the ability to add a foregrip while also having a bipod (open/closed)

I know that this list is going for a realistic Kalashnikov, but two other really good “AK-like” mods, are the IMI Galil by Subleader and the Chinese Assault Rifle by Wasteland Melody.

I don't know what it the problem is with See-Through-Scopes, and at this point I'm too afraid to ask.

With STS I've had custom armor sets clipping into the screen, scopes working for a while and then suddenly blacking out, and even invisible scopes sometimes. I'd rather stick to the vanilla scope overlays, whose worst issue is improper scaling for non-16:9 aspect ratios. I wish there was a Picture in Picture scope mod for Fallout 4 like the recent release for New Vegas. That would be the best, but I'm sure it would come with it's own downsides (poor performance, most likely).

AK5C isn't a kalashnikov. It's swedish assault rifle based on FN FAL and has nothing to do it with russian AK. But I guess spotlight for the mod is cool too.

I believe AKM Complex and its TT-33 are part of Combined Arms, yes.

There is a newer AK-112 by Micalov that is pretty good. It does have a couple issues. It is overly heavy, which is easily fixed in FO4 Edit. The other is it spawns on Combat Rifle lists, as a combat rifle peer, which is supposed to mean that you have an equal chance of one or the other unfortunately, every spawn on an enemy also spawns a combat rifle…every single time.

Honestly, that soviet carbine / AK-112 based on the FO1 and 2 design, would look A LOT better if it was just thinner overall, had some rounded bevels on the edges, and had more texture variety for the metal parts.

Weapon mods take the least amount of time to examine, but I'm not against looking at new worldspace mods. There aren't very many of them for Fallout 4, unfortunately.

The AKM is a modified Version of the AK-47 sometimes calles AKM-47. So it is the same Rifle only cheaper to produce and a better muzzle.

Well you should have used some of those Call of Duty AK's to compare instead of those weird like the Elysium, which was just a fictive AK from the movie, or the already pretty old ones. - also side note: the AK5 isn't a russian kalashikowa but a swedisch weapon called "Automat Karbin 5". This even shouldn't be in here. The BOCW AK47 for example also got soo many attachements like the AKM Complex and got really nice animations, well excepft for all the different ammo types, using 5.56 which is originally wrong. But adjusting the dmg and ammo type with Fallout Edit yourself to the Nuka Worlds 7.62, since MW weapons are often overpowered anyway, would fix that. * MY winner would have been the MW2019 AK47 as the best AK mod since it got a pretty powerful and fierce sound, which a large rifle caliber shall intend to, and It's even 100% Lore friendly since it looks scratched, worn out and even dirty. Sadly it got abandomned....

Fun fact an Ak is actually unreliable when dipped and covered in mud but an AR 15 M4 and M16 are more reliable even when completely covered in mud and the guy shooting the guns put the mud inside the guns and The AR15 still worked perfectly but the AK wouldn’t shoot and the AK was jammed
