I binge watched Cathrin's videos for about 6 months before plucking up the courage to start my own channel and her willingness to be selfless and transparent was a game changer for me. I wish more South African based content creators were this open to sharing because the context does matter sometimes. With no prior social media presence, I have been on KZbin for almost 5 months now and I'm approaching the 300 subscriber mark that took Cathrin over a year. All because of her willingness to let us learn from her mistakes. ❤

Cathrin Manning you are amazing as a content creator! This is someone who has been smart with growing on you tube. She went from 500 subs to 440K subs within only a few years! Cathrin you rock! I only found her a week ago and have watched some of her videos. She has confidence with shows in her videos and works her you tube multiple revenue streams methodically. (Sean and Heather you are also my heroes!!)

Imposter syndrome is a real pain. It isn't something you concur once and for all. With every new project in which you level-up, you will catch yourself going back to those toxic thoughts. What helped for me is writing down my achievement on a piece of paper and referring to them when I feel like that. Loved this episode!

Love the message about not getting trapped into comparing yourself to the others in your niche, especially the ones who are way ahead of you. It took them time to get where they are. I don't usually watch people in my niche unless I really need to learn something for my day job. That way, as Cahtrin said, I don't accidentally let others influence my style.

This message was for me. I’ve been having issues with time management for a while. It’s hard for me to get out of the rut. I have a to do list that I use daily, but I noticed that I always complete the things that I enjoy doing the most. I spend the majority of my time in those areas. So the task that I don’t like to do, I continue to put it off. Now I’m working on balance. If you would create a video about balancing your time, I would appreciate it.

Good stuff Sean and Cathrin! I actually had the opposite experience on changing names on one of my hobby channels. I switched it to what is kind of my main keyword (had the domain) and off of this Channel. But in the long run, I think my personal/branded channel will have more opportunities to grow than the other one anyway. But its nice to have a place to play, and I don't want to ignore thousands of subscribers and completely abandon them. Anyway, looking forward to part 2. Thanks again!

Great video. I just started and I'm far from anybody! And I've shared some videos on my fb and I've seen a few people oddly make statements of them just trying to make it through the day and here others are trying to become famous.. ect. Um , yeah I'm not trying to become famous but do want to help others, I do want to be used by God and I would love to be able to have a stay at home income. Like I said, I'm far from anything! But I'm sowing, so hopefully 1 day I can reap. God Bless you both 🙏

Love your vids, but seriously, when do we stop with the "dumb look" faces on our thumbnails? Every sheep is following the same strategy, now the KZbin home pages look all like clueless people all surprised, shocked, air headed, etc. I understand we need to educate ourselves with YT and it's ever changing platform of what works and what doesn't, but when it's like a blanket effect, in the end it just makes you another number. I hope that makes sense 👍.
@jarednel3 жыл бұрын
Totally agree, Chris. 💯 I've gotten pretty tired of all the weird faces as well. 😅 Lately they just feel more cliche and click-bait-ish to me. 🤷♂️ I'm finally launching my channel within the next two weeks and I've told myself, "no weird faces EVER!!!" Haha 😂
@classicvwbugs3 жыл бұрын
@@jarednel Yeah man for sure, what kind of channel are you doing?
@jarednel3 жыл бұрын
@@classicvwbugs So the channel is called End Time Disciple (ETD.) The slogan is: Helping you live ready for Jesus' return. I'll be doing videos on Eschatology (end time stuff,) Theology (God & Bible stuff,) and Discipleship (following Jesus in today's world stuff.) Or perhaps from a more problem-centric point of view, I want to help people navigate through: (1) weird teachings, bad prophecies, & silly conspiracy theories about end times, (2) infighting, division & ignorance within the church, (3) shallow understandings & poor practical advice about being a genuine disciple of Jesus today. No content up yet but channel is setup here: kzbin.info/door/9nRSASfdsA47tVpK7Ce2jg Have you got a channel? 😎
