What most people don't seem to know (including the commentators on tv here) is that these two used to be sparring partners at a young age for years at a local cafe in a village in the Netherlands. And maybe at home too, that I don't know. Right up to the point Jelle Klaasen became the youngest world champion aged 21, defeating van Barneveld in the final of the 2006 BDO World Championship and Michael also got pretty far in the finals. Anyway, during those sparring years, they've rubbed off this high level of scoring and extremely high tempo of throwing on each other. Somehow there's this tension between them these days.I don't know what it is. It's almost like some brother-stuff I guess.
