There are two kinds of brand loyalty. The first is some weird allegiance, usually to Ford or Chevy. The other comes from experience. Most of us aren't out buying 5 cars a year to see how they are. If we've had a few good Toyotas or a few bad GMs, we tend to gravitate to Toyota (or vice versa if we've had bad Toyota experiences and good GM ones).

I am in the process of purchasing a 2024 Nissan Frontier in large part because of your reviews even though you don't own one. You explain the good and bad points of a vehicle and who you think it would be a good fit for. Now I just need to keep my fingers crossed that Nissan doesn't do anything crazy like decrease their incentives in December. By the way I also took your advice and spent many hours watching videos on negotiating with dealers. Keep up the good work and thanks for the useful content!

You will love the frontier and the pro4x is such a great trim. And well done on learning the negotiating skills. I once paid an astronomical fee of 6k to take a course on how to sell on Amazon. I lost 12k on my first product and was about to give up. A guy told me "yep this is when everyone throws in the towel, at rock bottom, yet they just learned so much". It changed my mind and I went on to design another product that make me 80k over the next 2 years. Point being now thst you have those negotiating skills and are planning to buy don't let and salesman or dealer that won't give in be a bad thing. Learn from those that you don't intend to buy from or thst won't meat your deal. So you can use it when the right deal is on the line. So even if fhey do decrease incentives you have the skills to make the deals work in your favor.
@webpatk4 күн бұрын
@@Jason-Samko I started off looking for a pro4x, but the selection within about 200 miles of me was very limited, for example I really wanted the spray in bed liner and none had it. During my search I found an SV hardbody that the dealership had put a bunch of upgrades into, but it had been sitting on their lot for 206 days. They added a NISMO lift kit, NISMO front and rear suspension kits, NISMO off-road control arms and BFG K02 tires. It also includes the Bilstein shocks. They threw all of that in at no cost. I was also able to get them to increase the amount that they offered me for my trade in by $1,200. The vehicle was priced about $3,050 under list and Nissan has a $2,000 rebate on top of that. The price was right in line with what I am seeing from other dealers in my area. With everything that they threw in I didn't even try to negotiate the price down. My goal is to find a good and fair deal. It doesn't need to be the best deal. All of this was done via email and a few phone calls. As I have heard you say, the deals are out there. I have been looking since the beginning of October waiting to find the right deal. I watched many hours of videos by you, Caredge and the homework guy. My plan is to wait until next week to purchase it hoping that the Nissan incentives get better and no one else buys it first. A little risky, but I have a plan B vehicle in mind if this one falls through. Thanks again for all of your useful content. I also find you videos very useful and entertaining and definitely plan to continue watching them even after I have purchased a vehicle.

Plenty of room for family or gear and a rock solid hemi motor and priced in the 50sto low 60s depending on options.

I'm a Ford guy, but I've owned a Chevy Monte Carlo, a 95 K1500, and a 09 Silverado. I also have an 87 dodge power ram that is a show truck, and it runs well. What's my point? My point is, I love Ford's, we just bought my wife an expedition, but you want to know something? If I go with another 1500 when I get rid of my F-150, it's probably going to be a Chevy. Again I love Ford's, but I'm going to get whatever I can get the best deal on, that has what I want and fits my lifestyle and my uses for it. I won't be leaving the channel, I enjoy getting the info on how to deal and what the best deals are. I also enjoy seeing someone with a plethora of different vehicles, and who gives their honest opinions of them. Keep doing your thing Jason, I personally love it.

I found this channel thru your hunting channel. I really appreciate your knowledge, tips, tricks and especially your honesty when it comes to bow hunting and truck/tool content. I’ve been a Toyota guy for the last 15 years but now they are not producing any SUV or truck I’m remotely interested in. Colorado Trail Boss is at the top of my list when I trade in my 2021 4Runner.

I bought a 2024 Toyota tundra because of where i live and the dealers of all brands i got the best deal. And i couldn’t care less that its a Toyota. I’ve worked in the automotive industry for 25 years and all brands have had and still have there problems with there vehicles and the people that build them. People aren’t perfect and the vehicles they make aren’t neither. Every truck we buy has its positives and negatives. Parts come from all over the world for every truck made today. Just get what you want and or need then don’t worry about it people.

Completely agree. It’s why I like your channel. I just bought a 2025 ram rebel 1500. Love it! However I can tell you what bothers me too. One being the cheap out on the headlights and tail lights and got those reflector style LEDs instead of the classic ram headlights and tail lights. Only the limited tungsten and RA show got the good headlights or normal headlights. Every previous year rebels had the nice headlights too just like Laramie.

Usually I tune out the whole "like & subscribe" plea by just about every KZbinr simply because if I like the content I usually subscribe. I have a 2019 Tacoma that I am satisfied with. Love that it doesnt have the Engine StartStop. Like the truck in general too. However, i think the Chevy Colorado is the best looking midsize out there. My onky concern with all the new trucks is the turbos. Maybe they will prove to be reliable longterm. We'll see.

To be honest, I do have a bit of bias towards/for dodge/chrysler products as 4 out of 7 vehicles my family and I have owned are such. That said, all of the vehicles, regardless of brand, have had a quirk or 3 that either made them unique or made them potentially unreliable. But theyve been pretty solid rigs as long as I take/have taken care of them. We currently have our '04 durango (5.7l v8) with 202k miles, '05 sebring (2.4l i4) with 151k miles, and our most recent '06 quest (3.5l v6) with 96k miles. Our mother/mother-in-law has an '03 galant (2.4l i4) with 219k miles. Beyond driving what your comfortable with, there really is no point in brand loyalty, just my $0.02. :)

I understand what your saying, I was convinced for a while that Toyota was the best for reliability. However I have owned a Silverado for almost 20 years with minimal problems . I was looking at the Tacoma for a while went with the Colorado instead because it offered more for my money. If it lasts as long as my Silverado is probably not gonna happen. Most brands are way too complicated now. which is by design it would seem.
@Jason-Samko4 күн бұрын
@@thomassalamonsen1759 agree. All trucks today are going the same way as the refrigerator. Used to be able to buy a fridge for 300 and it would last 25 years. Now they are 3000 and last 5 years.

I came for the Tacoma content at first. I’m enjoying the new content. I’ve been well served by Toyota trucks as I keep my vehicles a long time. I’ve only had 3 vehicles in the last 32 years. 1992 Toyota Truck, 2003 Nissan Pathfinder and now my 2020 Tacoma. We need reliable transportation as we are not well off and somewhat thrifty. All vehicles were well maintained from the get go. I enjoy your content and perspective. I really like the ZR2. But I’ll watch others spend and report.

We have 3 Toyotas, a 24 4runner TRD Pro, a 20 Tundra TRD off road and a 19 RAV4. I've had great luck with them. Ive also had great luck with Ford products. I was a Datsun/Nissan fan into the 1990s. Then I went to Ford, and currently I'm with Toyota. If I were to buy a mid sized truck I would get the one you have.

You are doing a great job, Jason. Keep up the fabulous work. I'll admit that when I but a car, I try to buy one that will make my wife happy. What's wrong with that? Car salespeople who are stupid, may tell either one of us that we "are stupid" by trying to buy a car, a microwave, a toaster or anything else that our wives like. I've known several car salesmen who were gems as far as being human beings---really decent human beings---are concerned. For every really decent car sales person I've known, I've probably known ten others who I wouldn't refer anyone to. If you were selling cars, new or used, I'd put my trust in everything you said. Happy Thanksgiving to a very nice and decent guy and his family. I'm certain Tina is proud of you. You're a gem. She must be, too! Andy McKane.

Not to rag on your GM Jason, but a thing you might check is your fuse box in the engine compartment. Open the lid on it & press down on every breaker in it & see if they're still coming out of production not seated. It could help to do it if they're loose & let us know what you found. Mine's a jul23 I think & every one was not fully seated & a couple were just barely there at all. Krap GMs, you kno 😁

So there is still a lot of brand loyalty out there. When I was younger, I bought whatever older car I could afford, brand didn't matter. Then later in '88 I bought my first new Chevy PU. Drove those for serval years, then wondered why the Ford 150 is so popular. So I bought one, didn't like it, and sold it for my wife's red Mustang convertible. Been driving Chevys since. Recently bought a '24 Colorado Z71, MT Truck of The Year. Great truck, but Now planing on ordering a '25 ZR2. Worst milage, but I want the 3" lift. 🤷♂

I'm with you Jason. I'm not a brand loyalist either (my dad is a GM guy all the way tho) I've had everything from jeeps to chevys to fords...even a Kia and a mitsubishi.. had a saturn at one point too and my truck is the 1st Nissan anything I've had. I don't even think my Frontier is the greatest thing out there. It's a good solid truck. Doesn't stand out in any one area but at the same time, isn't the bottom in any one area either. I even have a video of my 5 nitpicks about the Frontier....most of them I've fixed. I ain't going nowhere brother
