That was pretty incredible. You've convinced me to try some cherry tomatoes in my Aerogarden. I hadn't tried it before because I thought one plant would be too big. Thanks.

Very nice ! I have two Tiny Tim Tomato plants in my Aerogarden Harvest Classic ( the old version of the Harvest model). Right now they are about 90 days old and doing fine. Lots of fruits are developing and I am enjoying them too. Excellent video again 👍🙂

How much longer before harvest time ?
@goodwind62563 жыл бұрын
@@makeoversbymeme2077 Well, I cannot tell you an exact date…there are green fruits and ripe fruits and whenever I want I grab a few of them and eat them. The later fruits are even getting a bit larger. Unfortunately I can‘t remember when I could harvest my very first tomato!
@MyTube4Utoo Жыл бұрын
Wow, the Tiny Tim is a very good producer. I will be trying it. Thank you.

Yeah, Tiny Tim is my all-time favorite so far.

Nice job with your video! This is helpful as I grow dwarf tomato plants. I did not know that small varieties like Tiny Tim seem to grow large eventually and outgrow the little light on the aerogarden. I would want to take cuttings and start three new tomato plants to replaced the original plants. Another idea that I had was be using a larger grow system. Your video helped with planning.

Amazing growth of tomatoes! Well done! 👍👍👍Did you try to change the water every 2 month instead of every month? some say they don't change water at all because they keep on adding new water every time, so there's no need to change? What is the longest that you haven't change the water and did it make any difference?
@aerogardenexperiments Жыл бұрын
For tomato plants, I change water after every crop, which is usually 90 days. I noticed many times that the roots get into water float in the first 30-45 days. If so, I take that as an opportunity to clean the bowl and add fresh water.

So do I understand correctly that you did nothing for pollination? Do you use a fan or anything? I know that most tomatoes are self-pollinating but I wonder how they manage indoors. Thanks for the great content.
@aerogardenexperiments Жыл бұрын
That is correct. I did nothing for pollination and I don't even use the fan. Not only this variety, I never hand pollinated any cherry tomato varieties.

I'm so glad u have this! I just planted some Tiny Tim seeds from MI Gardener in soil last week. Then I bought an offbrand aeroponic system this week. I have everything I need to do this! Have you used any of his fertilizers in your Aerogarden? Subscribing to your channel immediately!
@aerogardenexperiments Жыл бұрын
Thank you. I use Aerogarden nutrients in many other (non-Aerogarden) hydroponic systems.
@nancyspruiell347 Жыл бұрын
@aerogardenexperiments Luke (MI gardener) has a liquid fertilizer that says it can be used in hydroponics so I'm thinking it could be used for aeroponics...maybe that could be one of your experiments ;)

How often did they need water topped off? And were you using Aerogarden nutrients once every 2 weeks? This is incredible, thanks for your good content.
@aerogardenexperiments Жыл бұрын
Yes, I use just Aerogarden nutrients every 2 weeks for Tiny Tim tomatoes. I refill water every 4-5 days once the plants are established.
@supernaturalbc2008 Жыл бұрын
Wow! Thanks for showing what's possible! I have been considering tiny Tim for my Aerogarden. Did you happen to count your tomatoes as you harvested? If you get an average weight of 10 you can get an idea of the production relative to cost.
@dorisrorick232411 ай бұрын
You can make refrigerator pickled cherry tomatoes. Poke a few holes on each tomato. This way, you preserve some for a little while longer.

@ctall99562 жыл бұрын
In your initial video, they were staying under the lights. Were you pruning them back to make sure that was the case?
@aerogardenexperiments2 жыл бұрын
I haven't pruned them in the first 5-6 months. Most of the plant was naturally staying under 1 foot. I started trimming a few branches later on.

Amazing! I really appreciate your videos, I’m excited to try growing these and Everglades tomatoes. Do you use specific nutrients for tomatoes or just maxi-gro?
@aerogardenexperiments8 ай бұрын
I use just the Aerogarden nutrients for all cherry tomato varieties. I never used MaxiGro for tomatoes, but I am currently experimenting with MaxiGro on cherry tomatoes. So far, so good.

About Day 45-50 for my first four Tiny Tims. First time growing them indoors and wow are they dense! If they produce half as well as yours I'll consider it a success. Great video! Cheers.

Do you cut your roots periodically? And, how easy is it to do a water change with such large plants?
@aerogardenexperiments2 жыл бұрын
I don't cut the roots explicitely. But I clean the gardens every two months. As I am cleaning the plants, I am forced remove some roots around the water sensor, pump, etc. I try not to touch the larger plants. But if I had to, I lift and place the grow deck in a temporary bowl, take and clean the aerogarden bowl, and swap the bowls back.

I am growing Cherry tomatoes on mine. Things grew fast, flowers came fast but most dropped off. Im in my harvesting finally but two plants are producing very little. Seems to me that 3 months of power for a handful of tomatoes isn't really economical. Perhaps when a tomato cost $5 a piece...I will keep it up! Thanks for your video
@aerogardenexperiments Жыл бұрын
Looks like the flowers are not being pollinated. Normally, cherry tomato flowers can take care of themselves. But we can always give a helping hand additionally by gently shaking the plants.
@antandshell2 жыл бұрын
Hi! Question please.... Is there any difference in taste from using maxi grow vs aerogarden nutrition?
@aerogardenexperiments2 жыл бұрын
I never used Maxi Gro for tomatoes, but I noticed a great taste in Cilantro.
@joopikk Жыл бұрын
So when you give up on the plants, you mean you trash all the plants (not relocate?) and start over? How many tomatoes do you think you got in 8 months?
@aerogardenexperiments Жыл бұрын
Yes, I trash the plants and start over with either seeds or some young cuttings from the existing plants. I got about 50 tomatoes per plant from each crop.

how often did you feed nutrients?
@aerogardenexperiments Жыл бұрын
Initially I was feeding only on the feeding schedule i.e. every 14 days. As the plants grow big and started drinking lots of water, I started adding additional 2-3 ml of nutrients with every refill.
@mohammadalakeel97953 жыл бұрын
Do you think you need a fan for growing lettuce or anything in aerogarden?
@aerogardenexperiments3 жыл бұрын
I don't use the fan normally on any Aerogarden. I have Aerogardens in my living and dining rooms, and temperatures between 60 and 65. I temporarily use fan if I suspect anything like edema on leaves, etc. which I had only twice in last 3 years and I had use fan for a week or so. But if the temperature is high, like 70+, in your growing area, then a small fan helps the crops like lettuce, Spinach, cilantro, etc.
