My aerogarden tomatoes always outgrow the lights. I chop them off but they just keep regrowing new branches. I transferred them to soil on the patio and they produced ok for several months. Now I strictly grow tomatoes outside in soil and use my 12 aerogardens for growing salad greens. Bell peppers do well in the aerogarden and I've had good harvests but they don't grow as large as the patio plants in soil. I enjoy using both methods and it's quite a learning experience. Your videos are always extremely helpful. Thank you!

I have a number of tiny tim tomato plants growing in my 3D printed tower garden. They're doing great so far, but since I never grew them before, I wanted to see how long they take to progress.

This brings me back. My first Aerogarden (bought in 2016) was used to grow Tiny Tim toms. That little plant gave me fresh tomatoes right through winter. TINY fresh tomatoes, but quite tasty. Your's are massive in comparison. I only grew one plant so there weren't the same, erm, space issues.

2:03 - you should have put the four plants all on the outside and nothing in the middle to give them the most space.

Thank you for filming this! Super helpful! I was curious how many micro tomato plants we could get away with planting in our Aerogarden!

I have lots of Tiny Tims growing in my Aerogardens. Some are eventually going outside. The two oldest ones are 96 days old today. Although they both have lots of tomatoes, they are still green. I noticed that your tomatoes ripened at about day 85. I use AG nutes and CalMag. I also trimmed the bottom leaves for better airflow. I haven't trimmed the roots yet. I am not sure if overcrowded roots would slow ripening. I use a fan that run about 8 hours a day. What do you think I am doing wrong? Why do you think they are ripening slowly?
@aerogardenexperiments
@aerogardenexperiments 2 жыл бұрын
Heat helps the ripening process. I maintain the temperature at 70 and I don't use any fans. Maybe you can try these two.

Thanks for your time and very informative video. Would definitely watch another video of yours. Do you grow any other dwarf plants in your AG. I have the Harvest 6 pod. Newbie here. :)

If the roots grow that much in the aerogarden, do you trim them or leave them as they are ?

Your videos are great. I bought a MUFGA 18 pod and it seems like nice quality but I was hoping for instructions on planting. They don't advise on what seeds you should cover and how long or which ones to use the domes and for how long. I am first time and don't know what I a doing but you helped me realize, I cannot put flowering vegetables in with leafy greens and herbs because of the lights. You saved me some wasted time and seeds. I would not have known to cover those holes by each pod hole to avoid algae. Thank you for your video on MUFGA to reassure me that it is a good buy for the money.

Nice to go back and watch your older videos. Those are a great reference. Seems that a lot of micro dwarf tomato plants take about 100 days to get several fully ripe tomatoes. Also, it was amazing to see you try to grow (4) plants in that AeroGarden 360. Do you think the crowding helped make the plants produce better or sooner?

Thanks @Matt. yeah, it is possible. I am just running an experiment with 2 plants vs. 3 plants in Harvest. I will share the results shortly.

Do you think these could've worked in an Aerogarden Sprout?
@aerogardenexperiments

May not be as productive as they are in Harvest, but it surely works. I recommend going with just 1 plant.

I grew a random tomato plant in my bedroom and it's huge now, it seems like it's taking a long time to ripen? It's 65 to 78 degrees, I try to keep it in lower 70s but have analog thermostat and sometimes gets a little warm

What nutrients do you use, when do you start adding nutrients and what PH and nutrient level did you try to keep your water at? I appreciate the info and great job!
@aerogardenexperiments
@aerogardenexperiments Жыл бұрын
I use just the aerogarden nutrients for all cherry tomato varieties in all of my hydroponic systems. I start adding nutrients once I see the seedlings and I always start with 8ML at every feeding cycle. Once the plants are well established and drinking up lots of water, I add additional 2-3 ml of nutrients everytime when I refill. Since Aerogarden nutrients come with pH buffer, I never measure the pH.

I would recommend switching to VitaLink Hydro Max Grow and Bloom hydroponic solutions. These are liquid concentrated A+B bottles like most hydro feeds and have very smart people formulating them.

What cycle does that pump operate on? My harvest shows 5 minutes on 25 minutes off, but the farm is customizable. Wasn’t sure if you are aware of an optimal situation or if the default got you those results?
@aerogardenexperiments
@aerogardenexperiments 3 жыл бұрын
I have grown this in Harvest Basic which does have any options to control the pump or lights. It's just the default settings that worked well for tiny tims.
