The name "Giant Killer" for the Porsche is somewhat ironic, given that "Giant" was the last movie James Dean made.

It's news to me that James Dean died racing. Wasn't it just driving on public roads? Hit by an old Ford, I think.

You have a very idiosyncratic idea of what constitutes a luxury car. The only luxury car you show is the Lincoln Continental. A loud and cramped 2 seater sports car is not luxurious. And by the way, the Lincoln was rear wheel drive, not front and rear.

8 most LUXURIOUS (Comfort, Quality, Performance and Style) cars of the '50's: Bentley Continental; Facel Vega FVS; Jaguar MK9; Mercedes-Benz 300S; Cadillac Eldorado; Lancia Aurelia MK5: Lincoln Continental Mk2 and Rolls-Royce Phantom V.

I gave this a thumbs down because of the ridiculously inaccurate title and some of the clearly misleading information. Too bad... because it had some good footage of some very nice cars... only a few of which are LUXURY cars.

Why is this called 'Luxury Cars' when there was only one? The other seven being sports/racers had the reputation of having little or no comfort at all.

Between 1900 and 1950 America led with world in automotive technology! After 1950, America went for style over road worthiness, as a result, America has lost the automotive war. Now, China + automobiles + Electricity is entering the ring and will become the uncontested champion of the world!

Jaguar has made luxury sports sedans since the 1950's, in addition to its sports cars. The Mk VII, VIII and IX and X were all big, fast and very luxurious.
@graemedurie90944 жыл бұрын
@@raywest3834 I stick with what I said. Jaguars of that period promised luxury but did not deliver. They were big and fast though

@@graemedurie9094 I've owned a 1958 Mk. VIII since 1974, and have no wish to argue with somebody who possibly cannot be persuaded by facts. What makes a 'luxury' car? You can tell it by the numbers, the vehicle size, the power, the choice of materials, the features; luxury is apparent from the moment you open the door. . . To exceed the Jaguars of the 50's for luxury, you'd have to step up to a Bentley, Rolls or largest Mercedes, and you'd be paying several times as much.
@graemedurie90944 жыл бұрын
@@raywest3834 Well, you own one. I'd say that Jaguar failed on the quality of materials and workmanship. Miles below the much smaller Rovers of the day.
