The RWD Ford Sierra Cosworth DID win a WRC event, the Tour de Corse 1988 with Didier Auriol. I must say the Sierra is my fav rally car full stop. It was already interesting for they had two different versions to chose from. And sadly often bad fate. They chose the XR4x4 for Sweden and New Zealand and it was leading the Hong Kong- Beijing marathon 87 until a stage or two before the finish. Back to the RWD Sierra Cosworth: The biggest surprise must have been that Ford chose the RWD Cosy for the Safari Rally 1987. And Blomqvist led with it for a long time until the ECU melted. This was straight followed by the worst fate: Tour de Corse was next and everybody knew on this twisty tarmac the Cosy would be unbeatable. Well Grundel crashed in SS1. And now for even more fate: Ford didn’t take the melted ECU problem in Africa serious as the Safari was an extremely hot and dusty event, Corsica should be much easier for the ECU. But indeed Blomqvist retired in SS3 with the exact same problem. Both works cars out of their most promising event after only 3 stages. By the end of the season the Sierra Cosworth finished 2nd & 3rd in both Finland and RAC (GB), both muddy gravel, makes you wonder how good (or dominant) the car would have been in Corsica 87 and Monte 88 (where it was dry but Ford didn’t start).

To be honest, I would prefer the Opel Ascona 400 (driven by Rohrl on 1982 season) more than the BMW 2002. But hey, nice video mate.

I agree here. For some reason I don't like the 2002, but there are so many great RWD cars, it is really hard to limit them for a top8 video.

I'm positive that the E30 M3 stock didn't made 300hp, maybe that car in that video, but not a stock one. Around 210hp for a stock one.

Jaden Sanderson The stock E30 M3 with the 2.3 L engine never produced 300 HP. Even its enlarged, 2.5 L successor barely produced somewhere around 280HP in the most powerful version of the E30 M3, the EVO 3 so I have no idea from where did that 300 HP figure came from.
