The change is a great idea. Removing limitations anytime is great especially for such an old game. It’s going to stir things up…Now we should have a choice for a second class and the ability to have for example a mage warrior tank. Similar to eso. Just my two cents!

tauren rogue is a huge mistake and stupid idea, why not give draeneis the class of demon hunter and warlocks?they have being in that culture for millennia,,,, same goes for orcs, they should be demon hunters to, they had the massive knowledge and corruption to work as demon hunter... what is a demon hunter? demon hunter is a simple agile fighter that consumed the fel and use the fel and demon blood to fight their enemys! why only elfs as demon hunters? that dosent make any sense, illidan was the first, he was a agile warrior and sorcerer by nature, the fel was just a bonus for hes demonic powers... the only races that have tasted the fel and demonic powers in all the lore was orcs and draeneis! so blizzard stop bullshiting the people! same shit goes by the Vrykuls, the only race in azzeroth that have more knowledge about dragons then any one, yet where the fuck are they in dragon islands? centaur are there? like how the fuck they merge to that place if they were born in azzeroth on deserted places? same goes by the Tuskkar, they were born and lived in northrend on frozen lands, they are like sea lions... do u see Sea lions living in hot places? LOL.... why not give us vrykul race? they make more sense then any other race in azzeroth to be in the dragon islands. they have knowledge about artifact weapons that were hidden in Stormheim, another place of dragons, the stormscale dragons, the Valajar, the Skorn the Ymijiar all those vrykul clans used dragons is their pets. Make vrykul be able to chose horde or alliance, Warrior,hunter,shaman,warlock,priest,druid,mage,DK and paladins. why not give vrykul hunters the option to tame dragons? proto drakes, or any type of drake/dragon? put dragon pets the same family as chimeras. vrykul druid with dragon/ dinosaur forms? vrykul shamans with dragon theme tottems and spells, like vikings! why not give undead race the chance to become paladins? they can be priest, they are apart of one the bigest fighting force in azzeroth to, the Scarlet crusade have undead paladins that do *holyshock* and other light based abilitys... a paladin is just a warrior that uses light powers to enhance hes fighting, and healing himself. same goes for night elfs to be paladins to, sense the holy light magic came from High elfs in the alliance, and same goes for night elf priest, they have their own light power, the light of the moon! why cant they be the night warrior paladin of the moon, if taurens are paladins because the Sun? blizzard for fuck sake... stop doing bullshit!

The only reason players can defeat bosses is because tauren rogues will help you. However, if you mysteriously suffer a 500k crit when you're fighting a boss - you'll know that the rogue decided that it was too good for the boss.

Tauren rogues were legends in Vanilla Barrens chat. They have always existed. They are so good in fact no one can see them. Apparently Blizzard saw fit to nerf them enough for us to play one.

I would love to see them redesign the druid forms of the four original druids. Compared to the zandalari trolls and the kul tiras humans, I feel they could make more creative designs especially for like worgen and tauren.

My thoughts exactly. The class race combos they are going to add require basically no work and he said as much with the art requirement comment. It makes me feel like they're on a mission with these interviews to say all the right things and that they'll use the excuse of no time to explain away all the problems like they always do. I was getting hopeful but I think I'm noticing a pattern of flowery words and promises with an underlying flow of excuses and minimal work. Like I get totems or druid forms take work but come on...how long does it take to make a set of totems for an entire team? Take a few weeks extra and make your game good!

@@P4TRICCS But at the end of the day, the lore that restricts this new race is lore they’ve developed. It could’ve been whatever they wanted it to be. So they still made the conscious decision to implement a race/class combo only played in that unique race/class combo. I’ve heard some people suggest maybe they can be other classes in another xpac or something but still, it’s frustrating to think a good portion of the player base won’t be able to seriously play Dracthyr. Hardcore class specific mains, for example, and tanks are two groups who won’t have the chance to play Dracthyr at high levels of gameplay.

Draenei rogues have been a thing for years. Rangari utilize rogue techniques throughout their campaigns against the Legion/Horde, with Draenei assassins being a prevalent occurrence. It's actually more ridiculous that they weren't considered for a rogue class given their capabilities with agility. As for Tauren, a people who have specialized their craft with nature since the birth of their existence, would be one deadly foe I wouldn't want handling my food but would also be the first to ask if anyone needed a bodyguard in a place like Booty Bay. Besides, Tauren are, by lore, canonically one of the best hunters and therefore, make for some of the best stalkers. So a rogue Tauren, to me, is someone who took those skills and put them into shadow/criminal work rather than following a traditional honor path. Rather than hunting animals, they hunt down humans and coin.

It's exactly why Arthas was not able to use his power, because he didn't believed in himself and the light completely anymore, he was starting to lose faith, and it immediately turned off his power.... It's the highest form of believing, unless you truth yourself and the thing you believe in, you won't be able to use the power.... This is exactly why not every races can be druid, shaman or paladin. It's a form of magic you need to learn, you need to master BUT you also need absolute faith, and it's impossible to have absolute faith in something when you aren't born from the race that is believing in the thing. Every humans follow the light, even if it's just a bit, Dwarfs follow the natural shamanic energy.... You can easily see where it's going... How could they blindly follow elune, when they also follow someone else? They can't, because they aren't born and training since they are kids to follow elune teachings... Therefore they can't use druids power.... Even the fucking strongest mage in wow is having a hard time mastering transformation techniques and can't draw the light or elune's moon power.... How the fuck would a random hero do it.

This'll be awesome! What I love about expans with new race/class combos is the lore behind it. For example, when taurens became pallys, it was because they drew their power, not from the "light" but from the freaking sun itself! Sunwalkers (I think was the title?) Sounds so badass!!!

Night Elves look badass as Paladins. If you didn't know, you can go into the Sundering instance (can't remember the actual name of the instance. It's the one where you fight to obtain the Dragonsoul before its sucked into the Well of Eternity.) Everyone is given a Night Elf illusion for that dungeon. So you can check out mogs and they might keep the animations from that when they do come.

Lorewise it doesn't make sense, night elves don't venerate the light as humans or draenei do. They venerate Elune and their priestesses are able to fight event though they often choose to pick a bow instead of warglaves. Actually if they make it, there should be a kind of "class skin" to make it more immersive...

For Night Elf Paladins, I really hope they're like a special version where it's visually different. So their version is specifically devoted to Elune. So all their abilites have more of a whiteish blueish light.

The fact that blood elves still can't be druids baffles me. We had Botanist Freywin in TBC and the farstrider sect of the blood elf society that was also very in tune with nature, it makes perfect sense lorewise as to allow them to become druids.

The #1 race/class combo I'm looking forward to is the dwarf/druids, I imagine stuff like the sapphire panther and the other various gemstone mounts jewel crafting can be used to make for the inspiration behind the animal forms they will get once they ever get around to creating the proper story elements to allow the combo.

Imagine nightelf Paladin and priests with silver colored spells to match elune, tauren Paladin and priests with orange-red spells to match the sun, while zandalari can have more gold then yellow to match their loa. Dark iron can be colored more red to match fire, human can stay yellow, dwarf can stay yellow, dreanie can stay yellow, lightforge can stay yellow, bloodelf can be more orange-yellow to match sunwell.

Would be cool but a big thing in pvp is audio and visual queues. Hearing and seeing standardized queues helps with processing the information quickly and second nature, new visual effects could be a sensory overload for casual players

Bare minimum on the 'lore requirement' front Night Elf Paladins should be a 10.0 thing too. They've got the foundation and the Night Elves need righteous defenders now more than ever. (also the Darkshore warfront armor is a perfect fit for them where other paladin sets may not strictly be thematically)

I think the main problem with night elf paladins is that there is a bigger lore implication so for a night elf paladin, we should probably have a little quest line plus they have a moon priestess saber in game so they’re gonna have to add a brand new type of saber to match or some sort of horse plus I feel like if there is a night elf paladin they should have a glyph that colors all your spell silver to match Elune

As it is if they worked on such an idea just a little each patch since 7.0 they could have had such a quest, and definitely a glyph. I won't pretend to know how hard it would be to recolor holy spells when such a glyph is active...but something tells me it could also likewise have been achieved after nearly 6 years of having a Nelf paladin character exist

Monks have the three stances and unique melee attacking styles so they aren't as cut and dry as you say. Would require having to rework the entire models melee attacking for goblins and worgen.

I still am hoping for Draenei warlocks. Yes, warlocks. I know if flies in the face of everything Draenei stand for, but if Night Elves (a race forbid use of arcane magic after the War of the Ancients) can be mages now, I don't see why Draenei can't break their own taboo about fel magic too in sort of "use our enemies tools against them" sort of way. Also the thought of a female Draenei taking her succubus girlfriend out for them to both get hooficures is just adorable!

The most exciting thing is the idea that they want to do this more and it sounds like they plan to. This means if you don't mind having a bunch of repeat classes just to play a new /better race for your main class and don't plan to spend the money to change your main then you should massively relax on leveling alts. It's the most fun I have playing right now. I hardly care to actually gear or work with my first 60 in shadowlands since I got back to playing. BUT, this means I can spend a lot more time focusing on my side objectives instead like making gold.

I get that, some of my favorite characters I've made in games have jobs or beliefs that fly directly in the face of their parent culture. Favorite example being my sith pureblood Jedi Knight. I like that it forces me to think: "Well why is my character like this? What drove them to this path?" Of course a blood elf would be a mage or a tauren would be a shaman or a pandaren would be a monk. But what about a forsaken paladin? Perhaps he was a part of the Silver Hand before turning and has spent all these years trying to restore that one connection to what he once was. Or in this case, the draenei warlock: maybe, after all those thousands of years, was curious about the power that drove his brethren to being corrupted and the temptation finally broke him.

Lightforged Draenaei can't be monks! Which means in the current live game, they cannot equip ANY leather at all. It's wild they'll be getting rogues and not monks, which makes me suspect you could be right about the monks being overlooked.

I think there are some race class combinations that just don't make sense though but they are very, very few. I am thinking things like Lightbound Draenei Warlocks, Undead Druids and Void Elf Paladins. But most race/class combinations don't really have a good reason not to exist, so I think the vast majority SHOULD happen with only the few, the exceptionally few outliers not.

@@benacewoofstorm Some Worgen can control the beast, it's why we have Worgen Player Characters. Not every worgen is a blood thirsty Berserker, just as not every monk is a cornerstone of Zen and spirituality. In a world where Martial Arts is practiced for practicality, it would make sense that it would take precedence over the spiritual side of practicing the art. You can have both, but a Monk in World of Warcraft punches first and meditates after. It's a skill that can be learned but takes time and practice to master. Worgen and Goblins at this point in the lore should be able to be monks.

I don't think humans and blood elves would take much lore adjustments to allow Shamans, Druids, etc. Both those races have so many sub-factions that all it would take is a small splinter group teaching your character how to embrace the elements and whatnot.

Can't think of too many people I've talked to over the vast amount of years who really care about Tauren getting Priests, Mages, and Rogues. Same with Dranei. I have seen quite a few people (myself included) who would love to see Forsaken Paladins. There is even one that fights with Tirion Fordring.

Lightforged Shaman would be cool. Them not being able to be one in legion made sense as they were fighting on a dead planet. Nothing really to commune with as a Shaman. But now that the war with the legion is over, and they’re with the alliance and have access to a living world again, they could pick up shamanism once more.

The draenei only embraced shamanism after they lost their connection to the holy light, and the broken needed something to fill the void in their hearts. They later shared their teachings with the other draenei. The lightforged are too fanatical to let any other religion in their life.

Maybe Highmountain needs defense against some demons, the Lightforged help them and are being forced to connect with Shaman spirits to win the war. Thus have some of them stay in highmountain and learn shamanism. Or be ressurected and have their spirits lost and replaced by shaman spirits, making them Shamans in the body of a lightforged draenei. Lightforged Draenei Death Knights are a thing too. They can switch if they are somehow being "forced".

I think the beginning this is true but races not branching out makes them monolithic. It has been at least a decade or more of in-game time that has passed in the game. It makes sense for cultural diffusion to take it's course and for there to be people amongst a community that reject their current norms and do something different.

I would honestly love if some of the race/class combos were unlockable in the story for them to make sense. For example, Blood Elf Druids could be a thing since in the lore there were High Elf Druids, albeit not regularly seen. Maybe you could do a long questline involving attunement to several things and in the end unlock them. Another example of something that could be seen are Human Shaman, since the Kul Tirans can already be shaman, maybe some of the Stormwind humans can become Tidesages after a long questline. All races should be able to become Shaman in my opinion, since shamanism is pretty common. And following that logic, all races could become Paladins too, except maybe Void Elves and Undead since they would suffer from the exposure to the Light. In summary I would love to get something meaningful as unlockables through the story itself. Nothing too prestigious but rather something to work towards in the long run, much like we did for Allied Races when we had to recruit them, by completing some meta achievements and some scenarios regarding how they were recruited into the faction.

Yeah same, if I want to go for the "Knight" Aesthetic for humans I just go warrior. Playing a fighter who can't use magic is just a more engaging aesthetic to play then a Knight who can use magic.

Let me make a Blood/Void/High Elf Shaman!! I think all the classes have been around long enough for it to be sufficient, lore wise, that all races can learn to be any class. I wouldn't object to race/class specific quests though. Like if I wanted to be a blood elf shaman, I'd first have to make a mage & then go down that class specific quest line where I learn to become a shaman because it's unusual for that race. That would be pretty neat. If you want a race/class combo that isn't lore specific, maybe have an available quest chain that let's you accomplish this. I think that would be a neat addition. Alot better than just giving glorified cows the ability to be sneaky rogues without thought or question..

Hey so I would love to see some different things. 1. would love to see Different Undead races like a race slider ( honestly this should have happened when Sylvanus was using the Valkyr to raise more undead, as it would have fit into the lore.) 2. would love to see humans and undead be Shamans and Druids ( humans could use alliance themed totems looking like the old lvl 60 classic gear, undead would use coffins.) as far as the druids they could use a wolf for both as there "cat form" the undead one being more diseased looking, same with there bear form and the humans would have more of a armored bear look rather then the night elf feathered look. 3. undead paladin Honestly dont know why this hasnt happened yet as we can play as a priest since day one of classic [as far as im aware] and they were Humans at one point and can be deathknights [which were at one point paladins that Arthus corrupted] {this being said all the races that can become deathknights should be able to be paladins if we are going by what was originally said in the In were you kill your partner who recognizes you . we have a light forged undead so we know that the light doesn't care about Death being a factor.

In fact, an Undead priest using a holy spell doesn't make much sense. Yes, we have Alonsus Faol who uses light while suffering for it, but it goes against any lore previously established. A Light worshipper should be conscious of the blasphemy of his condition and either leave behind his faith or be eager to terminate his "life". People tend to forget that being undead isn't like being alive, and it can be accepted only once having left the humanity (and thus faith with the possibility to use light magic) behind. Furthermore, much of the paladin's fantasy was to stand against the undead and demons (Shackle undead, Vanilla's Holy Wrath).
