Karina thank you so much for sharing I have the Ogden cami but have not yet used it now I know how to make it more modest it’s next on my sewing list. Thank you for your unique way of teaching you are so easy to follow and are so much fun wish it was possible to take a class with you in person I think that would be such an awesome day with lots of fun and laughter not to mention the actual learning curve but I do follow you on you tube and I find you such an inspiration. Have a wonderful day and thank you 💐💐💐

Love all your camis! I've been looking for a pattern that accommodates bra straps and that flows around the body instead of clinging. This pattern does both. Thanks!!

I so agree with you about the whole bra strap situation. I love your approach. My first Ogden I made in size 18 but eventually found the 14 worked best to go around my bust and also not to be too low around the arm hole. Brilliant fix and great win! And really good refashion, which is perfect recycling 👏🏻💐 totally great Many thanks

I made 8 I believe and won’t be making anymore. Now that I have the crystal cove from itch to stitch the fit is so much better with the dart and cup sizes. I’ll be widening the strap too.

Thank you for a great video, definitely the best I have come across for this cami 😍👍👏. I have been putting off buying this pattern until now but your advice on widening the straps and choice of fabrics has convinced me I really need it in my life. I love the recycled versions you made, a lady after my own heart. 💖💖 xx

This video is over a year ago. Currently my fave is the Crystal Cove from Itch to Stitch and whilst I still have to widen the straps, it comes with cup sizes and fits so much better than the Ogden. The Ogden is geared more for the A and B cups. I still wear mine but the fit is not totally right.

When I first started sewing I tried this pattern and it was awful on me! I grabbed it to review with this vid and it turns out I cut some kind of crazy big size. I also want more coverage and wider straps, so I will follow your instructions. For a 14 the pattern says 2 yards for 54" material but I am certain I can get this out of a yard, right? I have heard that it is a great scrap buster.

I have just bought the Ogden Camisole and found your video so helpful, it is the best one I have seen advising on the design before making it. Can please you tell me how you calculated the dart depth and placement of it on the pattern piece and did you change the pattern piece shaping to accommodate it? Sewing Susie in France
@LiftingPinsandNeedles6 жыл бұрын
cookee51 hi! I played with a muslin fabric and pinned the straps to the height that was comfortable for me. I marked on the muslin the height of my apex. I then transferred that mark onto the pattern. Depends on your cup size.... the depth of the dart could be: A cup 2cm, B cup 3cm, C cup 4-5cm, D cup 5-6cm. The length of the dart is 10-11cm. That mark of my apex is the tip of the dart and I draw it from there. I then adjusted the length of the front to account for length lost on the side seam to match the back. The crystal cove from itch to stitch has darts and cup sizes and shaping, plus a cute back detail. I have a vlog on that one also.

How did you add darts on the cami, i notice some have it? They are gorgeous.
@LiftingPinsandNeedles6 жыл бұрын
Noelsam11 the darts really didn’t work well and it was only an experiment. At the time I was packing to move to Brazil and life was crazy. I didn’t have time to perfect them and show them on the channel. Currently I’m loving the Crystal Cove by Itch to stick, its got darts and cup sizes 👍🏼
@Noelsam116 жыл бұрын
Ok, I have the Crystal Cove cami also, cause I saw it on your channel. I loved it. Maybe you can do a tutorial on how to do bust darts. I have the Silk Cami form Sew over it and I need bust dart, to make it fit better.
@LiftingPinsandNeedles6 жыл бұрын
Noelsam11 that pattern fits poorly even in the small busted ladies. There’s something off with it. I’ll find a way to perfect a method to add darts for sure and film it :)
@Noelsam116 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much Karina, I'll defiantly look forward it. I think you are so right, the pattern is poorly done, I thought It was just me thinking, I have tried to make it work many ways and I just don't like the way it work.

It looks like you put darts in the last cami you made. Why in that and not the others?
@LiftingPinsandNeedles6 жыл бұрын
Teresa Libby I made it last and didn’t cut it with all the others. It was an experiment and I haven’t made anymore since. The next ones I make will have the bust darts. It fits better.

@@LiftingPinsandNeedles So the fit is ok, I guess. I do normally need a FBA ...
@LiftingPinsandNeedles4 жыл бұрын
This brand drafts with a c cup in mind and that’s my cup size. . I never do an FBA. I added a dart for shaping, not for extra space width. It’s a different adjustment. I’d actually use a pattern with a dart or draft my own.

Hi Karina, Thanks for posting this. I would like to make the longer version (below the knee length), should I just add more length to it up till my desired length ?
