Wow Plukky I just finished the other video you put out today and here's another happy surprise. I'm blown away by the speed of that crew. I had no idea that Vietnam has such good facilities. It's a very different place from when my uncle and dad were there, and I'm happy to see it. I'd love to see some adventures out in the mountains and jungles and the farm areas, if you have time. Looks like you've been editing a lot, unless your new lady friends are already trained 😜. Buena suerte, cuídate mucho amigo.

Just a quicky. (No get your mind out of the gutter) why don't they use Lazer welders? Less distortion , no beveling , oxidisation before isn't a big issue. But two plates together and weld. 100 penetration on 6mm.

Really impressed with the video output. While you’re not wielding, you’re certainly working overtime to complete all the editing. Super huge effort to bring these insightful reveals of Ba Son’s aluminum catamaran building capabilities. No doubt you have many people now considering both aluminium as an alternative material and Ba Son as a capable and proven catamaran builder. :o))

Alright already, enough tickin tackin video, lets see what's happening between the scenes. You must be busy sourcing sails and interior systems. Looking great, can't wait to see some 😂 planking 😂 going on. Are you aware of who's the owner of the bigger boat and have they any new orders coming in? Your video's are certainly advanced advertising of a class 🎬 act. "Nothing but quality peepole."😅

What's all the stifna talk? If you sail alone too long you need more stifna? Moreover, it seems your video's lately are devoid of sand and watah ... where's the sand and watah!!!!! But seriously, can't wait to see the energetic new crew on your future boat, and Yes am enjoying your construction journey step by step.

Tell me you thoughts plucky on a steel haul with automotive thick steel and foam core. So welded on the outside with ribs then glued foam then riveted on the inside. So it would be like 16th inch metal glue 1.5 inch foam core. The other idea I have for that would be to use a paint and cotton fiber like a bed sheet. To help hold the paint together. And preventing rust
@surfskate3
@surfskate3 6 ай бұрын
I also think that a thiner thread count for the fiber like the bag of onions that you can see through.

Plukky... One of your previous adventures was when your boat was stuck by lightning and it blew 2 holes in the hull. Was that not caused by the steel frame of the boat...? I remember something about a French design and an Australian build...? In any case, is lightning-attraction not an issue for the new, solid aluminium boat? Top stuff!!
@SAILINGintoFREEDOM
@SAILINGintoFREEDOM 6 ай бұрын
No...it conducts
@FlyMeAirplane
@FlyMeAirplane 6 ай бұрын
Well actually.... lightning isn't attracted to a boat based on what the boat is made of. If lightning is going to hit, it tends to hit the tallest object in its area. So sail boat masts are excellent at attracting lightning due to being tall. So if lightning hits an aluminum mast on a non conducting fiberglass boat, the current goes down the mast and then looks for a least resistance path into the water. If it has to blow up some fiberglass on the way to the water, it doesn't care. With an aluminum boat, once the current gets down the mast it now has lots of great paths into the water so it's not going to blow the boat apart. What it will do is blow the VHF antenna, mast mounted GPS and radar stuff. Anything on the top of the mast. The huge voltage pulse could follow its way down the Navigation light wire and into the 12V system. I think I'd put a surge suppressor on the line coming down from the nav light. Maybe one on the coax to the VHF antenna also.

@@FlyMeAirplane Brilliant, informative reply! Thanks so much! I'm sure The Plukster would have considered all your points in his build specs. But we'll wait for him to comment as the boat gets to those issues as the build continues. Many thanks once again.
