I’ve been in a relationship for almost 2 years, and it’s pretty good, we don’t fight much, we always try to understand each other. There’s not anything super bad in it, I just feel disconnected. I’ve been thinking if I really want this relationship for a long time, but she always seems to be so secure about our future, that I feel bad about thinking otherwise and just put those feelings aside. I am lying to her, and that breaks my heart to discover. I will talk to her in some days, because today is new years eve, and I don’t want to end a shitty year this way.

A year ago, I had to make an important decision to end things. I thought we were going well actually, but I realized at some point that something felt off. We were drifting apart. He was avoiding interactions and kept hiding secrets. I felt bad everytime we had a fight. One day, I realized that I wasn't happy as before (and it's all thanks to a Psych2Go video!!) I mourned at the reality that the past four years were wasted. I watched a lot of Psych2Go vids to help myself cope. And you know what? Soon, I realized that there was no point in holding on to the past any longer. And I'm glad I let go. Now, a year later, I realized how stupid I was to hold on to something just because I was sentimental about the 4 years. One year being single opened a lot of doors and finally, catching up with friends whom I took for granted. And recently, I met someone who treated me better.

I was in a 5 year relationship and these are the things me and him encountered 1. They've betrayed your trust - Him (He Cheated, Twice) 2. They refuse to change - Me (Im really stubborn 😑) 3. You're holding each other back - Him (I really wanted to pursue my passion in performing but the thought of him not liking the aftermaths holds me back) 4. You're always fighting - he gets upset even with the slightest reason 5. Your needs arent being met - I'm guilty of not giving him enough 6. You've drifted Apart - We wanted different things as we grow 7. You dont see the point anymore - I dont see the point in continuing the relationship but I do high hopes that we fix ourselves apart, and might save the relarionship in the future. 8. Stopped making Effort - Me. I stopped. I just got tired of our fights every single day In conclusion, both of us have faults causing our brakeup. But I still feel a strong connection between us that might give us another chance in the future. I hope.

Trying to forgive and trust again is the hardest shit when the one you love betrayed you but your the one who pushed them away first. Everything is sensitive to you both. You know you enjoy each other’s company but that gnawing itch in the back of your mind, “I want to trust but what we had before feels destroyed. Is it worth rebuilding?”. I really needed to hear this. I just got out of a rough relationship... I wasn’t sure if I should apologize and give him another chance after all he did... he broke my trust, lied multiple times, didn’t meet my needs, he refused to give up a bad habit, I moved out after he got angry and told me to get out. He stopped making an effort and then after I gave him a second chance he stopped again. I didn’t want to break up with him because I loved him... we were planning our wedding... I almost felt obligated to stay with him because he has helped me some but in the end he was doing more damage than good. It was time for us to go our separate ways even if that’s hard to do.

Uch. I held (and tend to hold) on to relationships for way too long. It bit me in the butt this last time in a completely self-destructive way that ruined, at least temporarily, my career. I'm slowly crawling out of it, but I wish I would have be honest enough with myself to let it end better. It hurts way more now then it needed to.

I'm in a situation where every single thing is relevant. We've been together, for more than ten years. Everything, honestly, is one sided. Mine was trying anything and everything. His was, (for the last 6 years), his career/jobs. To the point where because he now works from home, I don't have a bedroom and I'm sleeping on an air mattress in my converted mudroom. I've been like that for many, many months. He refuses to clean up the bedroom space, is making no effort. ( I have multiple sclerosis so sleeping like this, is he'll. And there are mice I have to deal with to. Including their waste). There are many other things that are really bad to. To many to list. Mostly what me and a few others, know, is mental and emotional abuse. He says it all because of his "social awkwardness". I don't buy it. That his reasoning for ignoring me in person and on text. There's a really cruel example of something I was "punished" for. Won't go into that now. I have seperated myself. ( My house is comparitively big). With the current situation and a few other factors, I'm not able to move out. I am generally a joyful person. Even now. Still. He will NOT steal my joy. I had hoped, he could atleast stay a friend, like my other exes. I have other people relying on me, to stay in this house, so it's very, very complicated. Anyway, sorry for rambling on!!! Hope everyone else is safe and well. Love to all. Have a positive day!!🌞 ( Sorry for any typos).

I appreciated the warning and concern the first time but he kept bringing it up every time as if the first thing I'm going to say whenever I see his parents is "hi I'm bisexual." He was sweet and we had a lot in common but....this was one of the things that broke it for me sadly. And I feel so bad for breaking it off....

This happened just three months ago. It was the first person where I had the feeling I could end up in a relationship with (I'm 21). Everything was fine at first. At our 2nd date we started to feel the sparks. Shortly after, she confessed she was still in a relationship. I was shocked and deeply hurt. I felt used and traited. She said she's been wanting to break up with him for months but was afraid to do so because he emotionally and physically abuses her and didn't know what could happen if she broke up. She apologized deeply with beautiful words and begged me for another meeting to talk it out. I could kind of relate to her situation, though I still found it disgusting to hook up with someone while you're in a relationship. Her words were so convincing though that I decided to give her another chance. We talked it out, I told her she must break up with him otherwise I'm gone. She agreed but wanted me to give her time which I understood. And I supported her. This date (after the talk) was beautiful. It almost felt like it was perfection. I forgave her and we were much much closer than before. Although the situation with her boyfriend gave me a lot of pain plus the terrible things that he does/did to her made me suffer on top. After this things became weird. She seemed distant in chatting and barely texted me anymore on her own. So I talked to her about it. She said she didn't do well because there's so much on her head, then the boyfriend and then there's me and me suffering and professional school. I told her I understand but I demand to talk to me about her thoughts and worries. That's how it works. Didn't really change much. Several weeks passed and she still didn't break up with her boyfriend. So I asked if she still wanted to be together with me or not. She said she does but she needs time. The upcoming 2 dates she declined or had some lame excuses (migraine). This whole mess gave me so much emotional pain that I decided to cut it off. She just wasn't ready for something new. She also had some mental health issues without meaning it negatively (I do too). It would have destroyed me even if she managed to break up with him. I know she really liked me but it wasn't enough to overweigh the rest. I'm still not completely over it. What's fucking with my head is that she visits the same professional school as I do. I didn't see her since because we have bullshit schedules. I sometimes think about what if and what could happen if I talked to her again. But that might just be me being lonely.

My fiancé started out in our relationship as a gentle, kind, selfless person who would work with me through issues without judgement. He broke my trust when I had to beg him for 10 months to get a job, and he only got one after I had a stress-induced mental breakdown. He wants to pay me back for 10 months to make up for all I spent, but I don’t want money. I don’t care about money. He apologizes to me, but it just doesn’t feel genuine. He really hurt me. I lost faith in him. And when I had a conversation with him recently about him constantly staying in our bedroom playing video games with his friends and that I just wanted to spend more time with him, he became aggressive. He said “I’m sorry you aren’t content with how your life is right now, but I am. I just want to enjoy time with my friends, and I’m content with my life and how things are.” He’s right. I’m not content, and he’s making it worse. I just... feel fed up. I have been with him for almost 4 years. Enough is enough, but when am I going to have the courage to say it?

I truly don’t even know why I’m still in this relationship. Even before we were dating, I was the only one making an effort in our friendship. I know almost everything about him, but he’s never asked me anything. He has no clue what my interests are. I confused the constant struggle to get to know him + being around him so often, as feelings. If I don’t start the conversation, there won’t be one at all. He’s kind at times, but not very conscientious. It’s more like cluelessness/unawareness. He’s also pointed out features about my body, such as my face and weight (I’m 110lb and 5’5”). I feel like they aren’t insults, but he just points them out like “wow you’re really heavy” or “yeah those are just the scars”(when someone said I had something on my face. I have no idea how to set boundaries and I feel like the one in the wrong for not letting him know what’s bugging me. I really don’t know what to make of what’s going on. I hope I can figure it out soon though.

Thanks for this video. My ex broke up with me because I didn't like his bad habits like smoking, drinking, weed, heavy parties and stuff like that but I supported him on everything else (projects, college, career, family, hobbies, etc). He made me feel so guilty about me wanting to change him, when I only expressed him how I felt about his habbits and tried to show him better options like meditation, working out, etc. It really hurted me seeing him doing that kind of stuff but he kept on doing it infront of me and behind my back knowing how bad it made me feel and that led me to having a lot of anxiety and bad mood most of the time, and he would also made me feel kind of guilty for it even tho I started to go to therapy but he would do nothing. I felt guilty for so long after the breakup, I was always thinking that it was my fault because I wanted him to change the smoking and drinking, because of the anxiety I had, etc but then I realised that was what he made me think and it was not my fault, sure I'm not perfect, but I did the best I could with good intentions and he took it another way.
