Watch the interior window glass when grinding or cutting etc the hot metal sparks can damage the glass. You may not notice it until many months later while driving. We peppered a 1968 AMX SS drag cars tinted rear glass [ It was very expensive to replace ]

I would add a gusset tube from the halo to the main hoop on the side. I built pro stock cars for a living and that what we did along with the tubes on top. Cage looks awesome though!

Don't worry about hitting any specific deadlines you don't rush safety and quality work especially when it's dealing with something that can take your life but beings that you've came this far with the car you might as well go ahead and make it full race car and finish cutting the whole floor out of the car and replacing it with either sheet metal or carbon fiber panels and that way you can also cut them homemade wheel tubs out the back and put a proper mini tub in the car something that's big enough to fit at least a 14-15in wide rim and get a Fab9 rear end made for the car and 4link and wishbone to go along with it and a rear sway bar and go with spindle mounting front struts for the car that way you won't have to worry about a certain bolt pattern for the front wheels and get all of your safety gear and your NHRA license and get the cage certed and take all the glass out and put optic armor glass in it and get as much fiberglass or carbon fiber body panels as you can and go full tube chassis......if you don't know who John Doc is or don't watch his YT channel you should check it out and check out the Black Sheep aka the Black Grand National on his channel he's go a fairly mild built 427ci LS in it with a hydraulic roller camshaft making over 2000hp on the hub dyno and he's been low 4s in the 8th and he would've went faster if he wasn't fighting a valve float issue cuz the valve springs were too small

Considering it will be a eight cylinder that doesn't have to work as hard to make the power and will make lots more toque, I'd say this car should be able to beat the mr2 after getting dialed in. Depends on how much he wants to invest in the vehicle I guess. Imagine this thing pushing 1400whp in high gear. Just remember Ruby running eight seconds consistently with each different driver and the mr2 hasn't touched eight yet. Wonder how deep his pockets are though. Would be bad ass he builds a seven second car to beat cleat
