Great tip Chris. I've been watching you channel a good few years now and you've helped my game so much. How your not over the 500, 000 subscribers astounds me. Cheers

Great content. I use most of this already (through your past coaching videos) but I will work on the bunker play regarding splashing the sand onto the green, as that is my downfall, with little to no confidence. Keep up the superb work!

So glad I found your channel. I think the quality of a golf coach lies in their ability to communicate complicated thoughts clearly and concisely. You manage to do that, i've had a lot of light bulb moments watching your videos. Moves i was told about before suddenly clicked. Your explantion on shallowing and how and why it works changed my swing. I can finally hit a draw! Thank you!

All valuable tips. Rahm's driver tip is a great on-course corrector. After hitting that first banana ball, I implement it on the next opportunity, and usually able to manage through the remainder of the round. Game is much more fun from the short grass.

I really like the concept of the same number of steps to the ball. Having bowled some back in the day, a 4-step routine fits into how I bowl so a good crossover mentally.

Great analogy, can see how those would be very similar

using the lines on the ball when putting is great. When i line up my putts i just the word Titleist along my line and the # facing towards the break, this helps me focus on pace and not solely on direction

Good tips. On the bunker one, I've always found that opening the club face exposes the heel and the leading edge - surely there's less margin for error not more?

With the 60 60 100 tip is this only for irons or can you use it for fairway woods. Thanks
@ChrisRyanGolf2 ай бұрын
I’d probably stick to irons unless you have plenty of speed, can just cause lower flights In the fwy woods

the rahm driver tip how far right do you aim when the club is setup away from the ball ? hips too?
@ChrisRyanGolf2 ай бұрын
If set up as normal then just move the driver head, shoulders should then be a little closer but let this be dictated by the movement of the club head back from the ball

I can relate to that first swing in the video, lol

Perhaps I don’t have a good understanding of temper, but the tip with respect to getting more yardage from driver doesn’t make sense to me. No matter how quickly the driver is moving in the backswing, it must get down to zero velocity at the point of changing direction from backswing to downswing. Why does it matter how quickly the club head is moving in the backswing since all that energy must be dissipated in the transfer to a downswing?
@Kevin-ts7hf2 ай бұрын
Backswing is building and storing kinetic energy. While it’s mostly true that the club head reaches zero velocity, the downswing uses that previously stored energy from the backswing. As for the tempo, he’s saying rhythm is key for consistent golf. If you want to explode with the downswing, it can’t be disjointed/out of rhythm from the backswing.

Additionally to the answer of Kevin above: we are talking about moving masses in space. That means that if you accelerate your driver around you, at some point it will pull you around, which can increase you range of motion. Also, backswing and and downswing aren't separated by some sort of 0-line - they grab into each other. That means that while you upper body is still moving in the backswing, you lower body will already start to prepare and execute the backswing. The more force you put into the backswing, the more energy is stored in your muscle tissue AND the drive shaft and the more energy you have available, the more you can transfer into the ball at impact.

As good as these tips are, some people really struggle to do what others find easy though. I've recently developed a big slice, I've been seeing a pro for lessons and what he's telling me to do, I can't seem to do it at all. I don't have the time to go to the range and hit 500 balls a day I'm out of the house 11 hours a day for work, get to the range once a week, and I try to play a round 6 times a month. I can't, or I'm really struggling to stop doing what I wasn't actually doing 6 months ago. I'm awful at my weight distribution but luckily it isn't a huge problem for my swing 95% of the time. I've actually used the John rahm tip before and it 100% worked for me, until I started leading my hands in front of my driver kind of dragging it through my down swing and opening my club face to make me slice it. I just can't seem to stop it happening 😢😢
