Isn't it strange that as soon as someone puts out a video like this to impart some knowledge & fun for people all the so called experts come out from under their rocks & want to put them down. Nobody says you have to do it their way, to the person who put out the video, good on you keep them coming I really enjoyed it & I love learning new things & recipes & techniques. I'm not an Asian person myself, I'm a Scottish born Australian, here in Australia, as I'm sure just about everywhere else, we have Asian takeaway food shops & most of the people who run them tell us that the food that they sell is not the same as the genuine food they have back in their home countries, does that mean that their meals & recipes are any less Asian? They adjust to where ever they are & use the local ingredients, some of which they can't get back in their home countries so they just adapt their dishes to suit the local products that they can get more easily, what makes it authentic for them is the sauces & techniques that they use, I have my own version for cooking fried rice, first of all I cook the rice the day or night before & leave it in the fridge until I'm ready for it, then I cut up & stir fry whatever vegetables I want to use before adding the rice, I usually use Carrot, Red, Green & Yellow Capsicum, Peas, Green Beans & Broccolini, I also put in some cut up ham or bacon pieces & some small pieces of cooked chicken & then stir in some canned pineapple pieces, bamboo shoots & bean sprouts, & occasionally I'll also add in a small can of cooked Crab meat, then I mix in some food colouring that is used for colouring cakes, I usually use yellow but you can use any colour you like such as red, blue, green, pink, purple or orange or any other colour you might like, the more colouring you put in the deeper & richer the colour becomes, if you want a softer or lighter colour you just use a few drops instead, I usually use about one level teaspoon myself & just keep mixing it in until every grain of rice is coated with the colour then when I've plated it up I top it off with some crumbed sea scallops, crumbed prawns (also known as shrimp in some Countries) or small pieces of crumbed fish or crumbed fish fingers. I know that some people reading this will probably have their noses put out of joint & will say it can't or should't be done this way but I don't really care what people think & I'm not forcing anyone to make it My way but everybody is welcome to try making their fried rice My way if want to, & like I said I'm not an Asian person but there's nothing wrong with a bit of experimentation is there? & every time I make this & have People over for dinner They always say that they really enjoyed it & some even ask Me for My recipe & ask Me how I made it & I'm always happy to tell them & also I've found that it's a great way to get kids & fussy or picky eaters to eat their vegetables because they think that they've been given something special, especially if it's at a kids birthday party.

food colouring tfFf
@robbieoneil59454 жыл бұрын
In my last reply to this video I mentioned that sometimes I use cake colouring to colour my fried rice and I've had a couple of comments such as bruh and tfFf, I'm not all that tech savvy so I don't really know what that means but I suspect it is a disagreement with my way of doing things and that's fine, I don't expect everyone to agree with me, we all have our own ways of doing things and like I said before there's nothing wrong with a bit of experimentation but let's have another look at it, rice doesn't only come in white you can also buy brown rice or wild rice which is black so what's wrong with using other colours with a bit of cake colouring? You can use other things instead to colour your rice, if you use turmeric or curry powder it will turn yellow or if you use dark or light soy sauce it will turn brown or if you use a sweet chilli sauce it will have a reddish colour to it. It's exactly the same if you want to marinate chicken with these things the chicken doesn't stay white, but it's only the outside surface that changes colour,, if you cut the chicken or rice grains you will find that there still white inside and still taste like chicken or rice so go ahead do it your way experiment and enjoy.

Tips: 1. Make sure the rice is not clumpy when you dump it. 2. Actually let rice be tossed in the pan with the dry one before puting sauces.
I've made a handful of these from tasty (other than this particular recipe)and they are def great!! Super easy.

My moms breakfast fried rice recipe from Guam: Cut into bite sized pieces: • Spam • Bacon • Maple Breakfast Sausages • Yellow onions • Green onions • Scrambled Eggs Sauces/Seasonings: • Soy sauce • Mamasita’s Oyster sauce • Ground Pepper • Garlic Powder Cut your Spam, bacon, and sausage into bite size pieces before frying each individually in canola oil. Scramble some eggs and chop those up into similarly sized chunks. Fry your sliced yellow and green onion before throwing in the rest of your ingredients (including the ride of course!) Add your sauces to taste. BAM! Classic breakfast fried rice on Guam!
