that fuzzy quality of the orange amps somehow work well with 8 and 9 strings, as long as you can make the low end appropriate for different genres.
@DCJayhawk57 Жыл бұрын
I think it lends itself to more stoner/doom rather than syncopated djenty stuff. I have an Orange Rocker 15 Terror and rarely use it for modern metal, but if I'm playing Mastodon? Hell yeah. I have a Fortin 33 pedal, haven't tried yet in front of the Orange (I mostly play 8 string through my Mesa Triple Crown 100W), so I'm curious if it would tighten it up enough. The Orange has so much low end compared to the Mesa, so wonder if it would balance it out.
@SplotchTheCatThing11 ай бұрын
I bought an OR15 with my 8-string (because I played something like it in the store and really liked how it sounded in spite of that bassiness) and the best trick I've found so far is putting a DS-1 in the effects loop, and splitting the amount of gain I want between the amp's drive and the pedal's distortion knob -- it doesn't affect the timbre of the distortion very much but if I put the pedal's tone knob anywhere around center it really tightens up the sound and cleans up that bottom end. Only downside in my bedroom is it gets a little bit tricky to control the volume :D

Came across your channel recently and couple others and Been binge watching some vids last couple days lol you earned a new sub and also you and couple other people sold me on getting not only a 7 String but also an 8 String guitar. Cant freaking wait to try these out. Ordered a Satin Black Amaranth 7 String Jackson JS Series Dinky Arch Top JS22-7 DKA HT and an 8 string White Ibanez RG8WH with IBZ Humbuckers. Both look beautiful and price wise after seeing and watching reviews of it, look like an awesome great starter cheap 7 and 8 string guitars. These 2 are definitely gonna be my most quality wise guitars i have lol. 2 electric guitars i have are off branded . The 4 string bass guitar i have so far is the most expensive thing i have guitar wise , an Ibanez bass ( forgot the name of it lol but it looks beautiful and it costs over 300 Canadian dollars, i think nearly 400) excited to test these guitars out. Dipping my toes in new territories here lol and I'm all here for it. Hopefully can master some Meshuggah songs is my goal in the next couple months. Wish me luck when they arrive, thank you for the awesome vids in convincing me to get an 8 and 7 string guitar

@dreammachine86 Жыл бұрын
Very tempted to get one of those MT15s, they seem incredible value for money and ideal for modern metal. Although 8 strings can be a challenge so that's even more impressive that it handles one of those Ibanez 8 strings well.
@cynicalsaint5690 Жыл бұрын
I’ve been using a solar A1.8 instead of the Ibanez but regardless of the brand I highly recommend you try out an mt15 for your 8 string. The dirty channel almost feels so tight and so laser focused high gain that it almost reacts like a plug-in. Very brutal

I’m so curious about choosing the Ibanez for touring. On previous reviews, he stated a string preference for the neutral fret to be lower, around 7 or 9. AFAIK Ibanez always sets theirs at 12. Wouldn’t that be way less comfortable for touring? Wondering what else that guitar offers that led to that change in preference.

I hate when people, especially you, call 8 string guitars dumb, since you're one of the biggest 8 string advocates on youtube. It's the best thing to happen to metal in more recent times. Why center your entire channel around extended range guitars when you constantly call them dumb? I know you don't actually feel that way because I've been following your channel for many years. Every instrument has "ups and downs" but calling extended range guitars and their tones dumb, is dumb within itself.
