This is an old video but it suddenly popped up on my KZbin recommendation and as someone working on a webtoon with a lot of constant change between two different spaces this is very helpful

"that's okay, I cannot morally justify riding bikes anymore" okay that was hysterical, as someone who had planned to draw bikes and just changes to roller skates

My biggest mistake in making a comics is making it like it's a storyboard for a cartoon. I don't read much comics , so maybe that's why I invision a cartoon in my head(which I won't make because it's hard to) and make a comic cause it's a lot easier. I don't really know how to imagine a comic and that's a problem

Just read more comics! The more you read, the more you will get a sense for them. :)

Have a weird question but what size actually is a typical phone screen? Especially what size you use? Because I Google it and basically told me diff phone have diff phone screen size....😅
@simondrawsstuff2 жыл бұрын
It's true that there are a lot of different phone screen sizes. There's probably multiple stats out there, but one I just found listed 1080x1920px as one of the most popular resolutions. It definitely is a default resolution (HD, just vertical), so I think it's not a bad one to use as reference.

Can we use the same technique for paper comics?
@simondrawsstuff2 жыл бұрын
Yes! I focus on webtoons, so my specific examples often use layouts that are geared towards the effect of scrolling a webtoon on your phone. However, I create my comic to also exist in a paper version, and I don't change the scene transitions depending on which format the comic exists in. So all of these techniques are still valid in paper comics, though their application might look slightly different.
