Thank you for sharing! My top 8 items from 2023: 1. *Meditation cushion:* I've always been into meditation, but only occasionally. This was the first year that I did it (almost) every day, and it has had a significant impact on my life. 2. *Folding bike:* I took many beautiful bike rides that helped calm me down and remind me to reconnect with nature. 3. *Mandolin:* I purchased a new mandolin in summer, and have had fun writing music with it. 4. *Ear plugs:* New York City is extremely busy and chaotic. I started wearing earplugs regularly when taking the subway or walking to work and it makes things much more pleasant (don't worry, I can still hear enough to stay safe and alert). 5. *Mindfulness in Plain English (book):* I read so many great books this year, but if I had to choose one as a highlight it would be this one by Bhante Gunaratana. 6. *Oven:* Baking has become a hobby for me. I love making cakes, working with dough by hand, and the way my apartment smells when I use the oven. 7. *Yoga mat:* I've gotten into a routine of 15 minutes of easy yoga every morning. It helps get me out of bed and is slowly healing injuries I have in my muscles. 8. *Bluetooth earbuds:* I work in a noisy office, so I got a pair of earbuds to listen to music while I work. I'm so much more focused when I use them. It's been a very transformative year for me. Looking forward to 2024. Thanks for all of your inspiring videos!

I've recently been learning about Sashiko mending to bring new life to worn clothing. It strikes me similar to Kintsugi but with fabrics rather than pottery. I like the idea of mending/repairing and personalizing treasured items.

Hi, Aki, our Danish friends are ceramic artists and made all our pottery. As our girl friend already passed away, every single thing is even more appreciated, so we repair all bowls and cups and use them again. Maybe for other purposes, but they stay with us. This repair set is totally in my sense… though I like all the things you showed. All the best for 2024, stay happy, healthy and curious, love, Monika❣

I bought my first matcha set because of you and It arrived 2 days ago. It is part of my routine now as it feels like I’m meditating in a way. The process is kind of healing and soothing as I think of all the benefits of drinking matcha. Thank you so much and I look forward to your 2024 videos 🙏

I bought also matcha because of aki and love the meditative ceremonial aspects. I wanted to share my perspective because I was never a coffee addict, nevertheless I’m enjoying caffeine now more than ever. My point is that if I miss this ritual (matcha + afterwards over 10 minutes of meditation) for several days my mood changes from calm and happy to easily irritated or even angry, like it was before drinking matcha way more often. My process is that matcha helped me a lot as a habit but I don’t wanna depend on it and find my peace also without the need of a drug influenced meditation.

Kintsugi: I love this idea. Just started something similar: repairing vintage lenses - mostly Japanese! - to adapt them to my DSLR. For a start and for training I acquired a mixed set of 6 lenses for less than 50 Euros, all having their individual issues. As a beginner I'll probably break one or two of them. The repairing process kind of a meditation for me. Nearly finished repairing the first one today. These old lenses have some special personality and will display it on my photos, plus you can sense by just looking at them that they also carry some scars, just like your repaired pottery. I appreciate your videos very much - thank you for your thoughts.
