There are plenty of reasonably priced garments that look elegant and they don’t have to be made of expensive silks or cashmeres. If you can afford them you can incorporate a few expensive items that work well with less expensive yet good fitting sweaters, blouses, sneakers, etc and still look great.

Let's be real, people are judged all the time by appearances otherwise there wouldn't be careers like image consultants or jury consultants. Let's say you go before a judge & one is wearing a muscle t-shirt showing one's tats or someone goes before a judge neatly presented in an ironed shirt and presentable pants, who do you think will have a more favorable outcome? Same thing if one goes on a job interview, present oneself in a professional manner. What we wear in public is stating who we are. Many young women today have not been raised to understand basic things like this, so the internet fills in the gap for poor parenting.

@@hollyfischer1644 If you truly didn't care, then why are you watching a video on this topic. Clearly if you are that evolved and above what other's think, then why should you care how a certain segment of society presents themselves? Frankly, it's not debatable on how one presents one's self and how they are viewed. If one unfortunately finds themselves involved in a court action, one will be advised by their attorney how to dress in court. It is well understood that a jury will view how one is dressed as a sign of what kind of person they are. This also applies to the judge who will see it as a lack of courtesy if one fails to dress accordingly. There are jury consultants and image consultants who are there to guide regarding in how one presents themselves. Think about it if you are applying for a job, do you wear whatever or do you dress in a manner that suits the culture of the company? If you dress however you like, you likely are going to remain unemployed.

What is this thing about “ class” more steps backwards. I don’t remember class being a real American thing. Maybe it is in some countries like India but thought we were beyond that. I know people talk about rich & poor & that stuff but now we’re are talking class. What are we like the titanic with first class get in the boats first. To me first class is just good people, honest, hard working & good neighborhood kind of people, proud union workers etc. you can take you first or high class & shove it!

Several generations ago there was better parenting, so people understood what was appropriate behavior. No one used the word "classy", it would have been the height of being vulgar to use that term. However, we are where we are. So, many young people have to learn some social skills from the internet. The way I was raised seems to closer to the Jane Austen era, then the current generation. Depending on the career path one chooses, being socially adept is an advantage. It doesn't mean that one is "better" but that one has the "emotional intelligence" to navigate certain spheres. If one goes to a NASCAR event or a banquet at a 5-star venue like the Ritz-Carlton, one will dress differently and certainly act differently.

Try to educate yourself, cashmere does not come from rabbits. It comes from goats and they are not harmed in the process.

Not all polyester is "cheap" and silk, cashmere, "fine" wool, are all CRUEL, and can be cheap & scratchy despite The hype. cotton & linen are The preferences.
@bigreddallas274212 күн бұрын
You are sadly misinformed. Wool is not cruel. What is cruel is not shearing sheep. They become so weighted that they have trouble walking and can eventually die. Cashmere is also sheared, from Cashmere goats. And good silk today is made without killing the worms. The names are Ahimsa or Peace silk. ❤❤ Educating ones self is key when taking a stand against a practice. I would be interested in knowing if you carry a leather purse or eat beef, chicken, pork or fish.😂😂😂😂

@@bigreddallas2742 WRONG even if I were mistaken it would not be "sad". what is sad is YOU insisting on ways to USE these poor beings and laughing(!!!) at animal abuse 😑 just wow. may you reincarnate as a cow and someone laughs at people speaking up for YOU before you go into The slaughterhouse 🥂😉 K!

@@religion-free Polyester is always cheap looking. But everything can be cheap looking. Inexpensive/low quality cashmere is cheap looking. Same for low quality silk or cotton or linen. QUALITY is key in everything.

Yes, there are many poly blends that look nice and have good wear. Your knowledge on cashmere and silk is not up to date. There is nothing cruel about wool or cashmere. Regarding linen it has a longer life and utility if blended with flax or silk.
@solangelauthier23819 күн бұрын
@ It is not « not up to date ». It is entirely false and has always been false. Shearing a sheep or a goat is no worse than shaving a man or cutting a woman’s hair - or having a dog groomed. It does not harm the animal at all.

Yes, but many of the refined people of generational wealth don't buy these brands, they are considered garish. They might sport a chanel ballet shoes, but that is rather subtle.
