I knew about Nintendo dropping the ultra part, but didn't know why, so that's new. That can be said for pretty much all of them (I knew some about these, but not all the details).

You must be a long time nintendo fan. For me what things like how many titles were on the system will never cease to surprise me. I'll probably end up doing an 8 things video for the SNES at some point.

@@thequestgamer oh yeah, REALLY long time, and I was a kid that enjoyed reading wikipedia articles on my Nintendo DS bowser with videogame articles being a common topic.

Ha, didn't know good old Ultra Games blocked Nintendo from making it the Ultra 64, or the part where Nintendo went for 4-player co-op just because. It is an interesting thought, perhaps part of the same ambition that saw the hardware designer regret making something powerful yet complex to develop for, that lead to one the N64's strongest selling points. They wouldn't have been able to pull of four controllers without making it strong, but the drawbacks of that power (and associated costs) kept a lot of companies from wanting anything to do with the machine. Makes you feel like even if they had changed things around to create a machine that would theoretically be simpler and sell more, we would have missed out on some experiences that were only possible there- really wish that 64DD could have become a reality as well, in that regard. Also I'm a simple soul- Majora's Mask is probably the title from the N64 that sticks the most in my mind, with Mystical Ninja 1 and Mischief Makers being strong nr 3 and nr 2.

Great game for sure. The N64 had far too many classics. Currently playing through Majora's mask again myself.

I never ended up playing worms on the 64. That and starcraft were 2 I always were curious about playing with a 64 controller compared to a mouse.
