I moved to Mississauga from Nothern Ontario a year ago and I love it here. Here's some other things I'd add: -It's very close to the Pearson Airport -There are a ton of good paying factory jobs in the northern part of the city heading into Brampton -1 hour drive to Niagara Falls and bridge to USA Also, coming from Northern Ontario, the winters here are SO much more bearable than they are up north.

I have lived in Mississauga my whole life and yes the housing prices have gone insane but they have gone insane everywhere. mississauga is all built around driving culture, if you don't drive, you'll have a horrible time. there's very little walkability, little nightlife, and the transit is just ok.
@emanaqeel5964
@emanaqeel5964 3 жыл бұрын
agreed, except the transit is probably the best in comparison with other ones ive experienced. although I drive now, during my younger years I bussed quite a bit, and busses never came late and maybe 1/100 busses wouldnt show, compared to other cities in the GTA, miway transit is definitely the best. nightlife is dead unless you're into bars around square one or port credit.

Hello from Finland. We were visiting Mississauga in 1999 when my grandmama was going to be 100 yeras. Sadly she passed away before that but we desided to travel anyway to see my uncles. One of then lived in a penthouse in a guarded and fenced house. What I remember is that there was really hot. I woke up at night to find how to switch the aircon on. It was odd than when I opened the balcony door it was hot outside too. Here in Finland nights are normal even if it is hot in daytime. Anyway, it looks that Mississauga has changed in these years.

But in the Spring, Summer, and beginning of Fall it's sometimes warmer then Hamilton. I don't think I could live in a big city, I can't stand being stuck in traffic stopping and going every 5 seconds or standstill I would lose my mind.

I came to Canada in January and since May, I have lived here in Mississauga. I thought I would find friendly people because that's the conception that I had of this country. But, unfortunately, I found the opposite: rude, dirty, and very unkind people, who despite being immigrants too, have even made fun of my accent and have segregated to my spouse after realizing that she had a previous divorce because in their culture that is blamable (they told her that directly to her face). Between that, the college tuition, and the well-known expensive cost of living here, I no longer know if it was a good decision to come to this country.

I know it might sound offensive. But if you really don't like it here, maybe going back home (wherever that is) is your best option. No reason to suffer, wander around disappointed and progress from 'dislike' to 'hate'. If it's not for you, consider this solution. It's a good Country and Mississauga could be good place, but it doesn't mean it's great for everyone. I really ,really don't mean 'if you don't like it, just go back where you came from'. This is horrible thing to say in a mean way. I am just saying: this could be actually better for you. Good luck, no matter what you decide to.

I remember when Mississauga was a sleepy suburb in the 1970s. Now it is entire city in itself. Unrelated, is Dane FtM?

@@Moving2Canadainfo Lol! Not that there's anything wrong with unicorns. More related comment, when did Burlington become part of the GTA? Grew up in Dundas here and Burlington was considered a Hamilton suburb.

Oh nice, I see that you were filming across the street from my apartment building... lol. Mississauga's an okay enough city to live in but can be quite boring. I always find myself going into Toronto proper to escape the monotony. The only nice areas are Port Credit and Streetsville, which you can get tired of visiting after awhile. Businesses close too early, no real nightlife. And no real job opportunities here, unless you're content working in a factory.

Good video, and the Indian Food is outstanding. Also worth pointing out about the UP Express, Toronto Pearson to Union Station in 20 minutes. One small point, isn't your shirt inside out? 😁😁

Long time mississauga resident here, FYI MiWay is pronounced like “My-way” not “me-way” 🤓. Great video though,

Thank you!! :D I started to cringe a little at the pronunciation. Like, the driver was right there, you didn't have to guess.

@@Moving2Canadainfo I liked the way you said it in the video, it has a Game of Thrones tone to it. Like when the people from flea bottom would say me-lord.
