Welcome to the helpful home. I'm Sunday Dawn and I'm a 47 year old grandma living her best Nana life with her husband of 29 years, her married kiddos and those adorable grandbabies Rosie, Samuel, and Rick. Here you'll find all of the cleaning, organizating, and clean eating content your little heart desires with a little splash of sass and fun. Not too mention, all of the creative endeavors coming out of my little sundrenched studio in the pacific northwest that you can find in my etsy shop linked above. Don't worry I'm still sprinkling in lots of tiny tidies, home whip ups, clean eating recipes and grocery hauls to keep things exciting. So stick around it's gonna be a very productive good time 🥰

1. NOOOO! NOT MY FANTASY SELF! I love her!!❤️ She is so darn creative. 2. Damaged things… that comfy raggedy, soft sleep shirt. The one that has runs and holes popped right where a nip peaks out. 3. Thin clothes. Got rid of those long ago. Almost all. I kept a few tees I really loved. And, now they’re fitting. Proud to say - I’m having to get rid of a lot of clothes. Lost about 60 lbs since Sept 9th. 4. Duplicates. I have tape measures for different things. They’re stored with their uses. Tape measure for body measurements in my nightstand drawer, tape measure in my own “grandma” sewing box. One in my jewelry tools. One in my tool box under the kitchen sink. A bigger metal tape measure in my utility drawer. Hubby has a rack of them in his shop. 5. Grandma sewing box. I may get rid of it since I’ve inherited my mom’s entire seeing room which was already located in my home. 6. Those Velcro fabric sheet packaging. I fold sheets into a bundle. I store ours in a dresser drawer. And, Mom’swere in her bathroom linen closet. 7. Yes. Get rid of tge things bought for who I wanted to be. There’s some jewelry…. And, organza bags for filling with lavender buds and giving away at Christmas. 8. Superfluous sentimental stuff. I keep a list of sentimental things. 9. I don’t mess with hubby’s stuff w/o his cooperation. About to go thru all his clothes. 99% are too big on him now. I’ll do it by category or subcategory. Much like I do my own. Socks, unders, tees, shirts, shorts, jeans, slacks, overalls, jackets, suits, outerwear. Time to buy him some new clothes. ---plus--- 10. Cleaning supplies & equipment. 11. Bed linens 12. Office supplies 13. Dishes 14. Craft supplies… it’s time. I may cry.

That is the cutest sewing basket EVER. I need something like that. I sew my daughter's girl scout patches and I do sew holes if I need to. I am not perfect by any means but I can get the job done

I used to be an avid scrapbooker, and have stuff to make each of my sons a scrapbook of their lives that was SUPPOSED to be done for their graduation parties. That was in 2009 and 2011. Your hair looks extra pretty today! EDITED TO ADD: Not me over here snickering because you made yourself snort over the sewing basket! 🤣🤣 I love it when people laugh till they snort!

I always toss the thing that the sheets come in. I have baskets in my 3rd closet where I store my extra sheets, then another for rugs and another for tablecloths :D

The fantasy self things I’ve been decluttering are heels. As much as I love how they look they are not practical. I barely am stable in flats.😂😂😂 I do have a pair for the very rare occasion that I’m invited to a wedding or a posh gala.😂 The fantasy self can be a real thing and we hold on to things thinking that one day we’ll use or wear things. If that day ever comes we can always repurchase.

12:02 firstly loved your approach to the comb cause I saw it and had thoughts. To everyone else idk about a wooden comb but I have a similar one that’s plastic? Bone? Idk it’s cream and not wood but it’s infused with oil. Manuka? Or something. I love it. My hair has wave/ curl texture and it will tangle, but as a still wet shower option it’s great. Right up there with my wet brush for that.

Yes, my fantasy self is an avid scrapbook or, reader of many books, avid Gardner, sits for hours on end and crochets every day, and also has an immaculate house 24 seven! I also had a midlife crisis during 2020 in which I quit my job And retired at the age of 51! This was approved by my husband, but now we are super broke (House poor) and need to come up with some kind of a plan lmao😂

GIRL, you won't believe this, but my daughter wanted to do ballet during her senior year in high school and I decided to do it with her!! I had never done ballet in my life, but started at age 40! YES, get rid of fantasy self for sure!!! I said the same thing in my video hahaha!!! Cuz I decided it was only my fantasy self that was a crafter LOL! Yes, high low skirts and dresses are out! They used to be such a thing! I know I said this in your closet clean out video, but super impressed with your husband letting go of that sentimental jacket! Thanks for sharing! Like I've said before: when I moved in October I was surprised at how much junk I was holding on to. Especially since I've been living out of the country for years and living pretty minimalist. I had the crochet stuff(and it's way to hot to do that here), journals from 2016 and an iron I used once. Ha ha ha ! I still have a storage container on the top shelf I haven't gone through yet but it's just my camera, tripod and other electronics I don't use very often.

@@TheHelpfulHome That's the year I moved overseas more or less semi permanently. Two of my grandkids were little (4 and 3) and I was living with my son and daughter in law in Chiba ,Japan. I did tear all the super important pages out and kept those but I just didn't want to bring all those dirty planners to my new place.

My fantasy self also wears beautiful dresses every day and glides around the house with a feather duster and a great big smile on her face 😂 but I cannot get rid of my fantasy items yet because on occasion my fantasy self does pop out just enough to wear. I’m not ready yet 😂

I had the same shrug or similar, and it had holes too and it took me a lot to get rid of it as well.
