8 Tips to GET GOOD at DRG: Survivor!

Deep rock galactic Survivor tips to help the new players that are struggling with the games difficulty. This rougelike/survivor game is not particularly easy so here are the tips that I have picked up on so far in my gameplay.
Let me know If you have any good tips that I did not mention.

Artifacts are also crucial for late game boss as these are made specifically for higher hazards. Those are Pickle Nitra which boosts your damage by 2% for every nitra you have for lil bit of movement speed penalty, the goggle one that boosts your crit chance and damage, Nitra Powder which boosts your crit chance for the amount of nitra you have. Another thing is understanding which weapon scale well into late game and priority getting its unstable overclock. Namely Scout's M1000 and Boomstick, Gunner's minigun and Autocannon, Engineer's turrets and Warhog shotgun, Driller... i don't play Diller (i know, sadge). The rest of the weapons have useful utility once you get its balanced overclocks. The other upgrades that i would generally consider is movement speed and mining speed. Sure magnet size is nice but there are better options and i don't find EXP rate to be that much noticeable but of course if you stumble upon epic or legendary upgrades then it's a steal. The more enemies you kill the faster you level up and more space you create to move around so i'd personally priority weapon upgrades above all.

Dreadnought is really easy if you wait for the jump animation and then run perpendicular to its intended direction. So if it is headed upward, go right or left. This can get tricky when you've got pickled nitra. Use the jumps to destroy terrain that you want to go through or resources you want mined. Also standing on the pod's ramp at the end of each stage is enough, so when safe to do so, hang around on there to farm more xp if the timer is still ticking down, you'll automatically make it at 00:00.

here's a meta progression tip on the note of one of the per-run tips above: Move and mining speed, magnet size, and EXP rate should be what you try to max out as soon as you can. Luck helps you get better upgrades more often, so if you can also pump that higher, do so. of course, every little bit of power and armor and HP helps, but for Karl's sake and your own, consider those a long term priority. EDIT: another tip IN runs, is to really understand what weapons give what tags. if you stack more weapons that have the same tags, you can upgrade them all at the same time by picking upgrades that affect said tags. most weapons have 3, some have 4. some overclocks change the Element tag which can affect DPS if you are running all Kinetic and the game gives you an overclock to change it into Fire, Cyro, Acid, Plasma or Electric

4:04 You think it's odd to have a minimap in a game with an isometric perspective? Have you ever played any arpg like Diablo whatsoever? ;)

what i don't understand and don't see in any guides is the damage and damage overtime... if i have a flamethrower, acid gun, microwave. does 15% damage increase those weapons? or do i need the status damage boost for those weapons instead? cuz like... ill get them to lvl 20 and feel like im doing zero dmg... cant farm. can't lvl up. I'll be on the 2nd part of tier 2 barely surviving. not being able to do the side quest. not being able to farm cuz im just over swarmed because i can't kill a single creature... im just stuck

Can someone explain how Dreadnought attacks? It looks like it`s jumping on certain AoE, since he doesn`t destroy rocks on it`s path, but at the same time it deals dmg like it`s charging. I should just move in 90 degrees oposite of it`s path from him or how?

Does the difficulty reset per wave? In your xp section you state you can continue to farm xp by not killing the boss, which is something I have done in the past, but later waves did not seem a lot easier (as they "should" be with more levels?) so does that mean the "bugs get stronger" actually gets taken along to later levels?

It doesn't reset until you die or win. But the speed and enemy variety increases gradually in each Round.

Focusing one good weapon to 18/3 overclocks is more powerful than three weapons that are at 1 overclock. Split your weapons between wave clearing and have at least one weapon for single targets.

Good game but sadly far too unbalanced. Any non dmg centric/xp upgrade shouldnt be choosed if you want to go deep, any quality of life upgrade are useless compare to pure dmg or farming xp which diminish the versality of playstyle. Hopefully get hotfix soon Contrary to what the video stated, its nearly impossible to run deep without XP/dmg upgrades Same for guns : stuff like boomerang are fun but completely useless

you underestimate the impact mobility and XP have on your ability to grow stronger. XP+ is also more valuable the more overall XP is available, so particularly at higher haz levels. magnet gets you more XP safer, move speed keeps you safe and offsets pickled nitra, mining speed allows you more mobility and ability to funnel or get places, or to spend less time on mining and more on killing.

Games neat, but far too slow for power progression. leveling your passives and weapons is more tedious than fun especially for the lack of power reward. weapon variety seemed kinda weak too... I finally beat the boss after about 8 hours and the reward was...... Nothing? was stoked to beat the boss but there being zero reward was really disappointing. Video was teaching common sense which is nice for people new to the genre but there wasn't anything i didn't pick up on naturally playing the game. I wish there was something special i didn't notice but if a tips video is use common sense this game is just lacking atm.

There are only 5 levels consisting of 5 rounds, if we give super big incremental permanent upgrades to anyone you'll clear levels without even touching the keys. Maybe you should just get good?? It took us 2-4 runs with my friends to kill the first boss. Also, even if it doesn't look big, having better weapons, overclocks, better class mods, better all stats, is actually a big buff if you multiply all the benefits.

actually i know some more good tips 1 on every lvlup you create a small knockback area which may prevent some dmg and surronds 2 on completing seconday objecives you have a little explosion around you which may finish weak enemies and also knock them back if they are alive 3 grinding minerals are pain in the ass but you will got an amazing starting stats : +48% dmg +24% reload +16% diggind speed +16% movement speed +24armor +24luck +48% loot radius +24% exp gain +120 hp + 12 hp regen +12% crit chance and +48% crit dmg 4 on higher levle of hazards movement micro and digging tunnel traps needed to survive 5 the most important one this game is fun but its a neck killer! dont be lazy and massage your trapezius muscle your neck will be greatful .
