We will discuss 8 forgotten trucks of the 70s 80s and 90s. These pickups have either been forgotten, or most people never knew they existed at all. Some of these vehicles resembled an actual pickup truck, but was really just a front-wheel drive car under the skin. While some of these trucks were actual rear-wheel drive work vehicles, that blended features typically found on a car, like a convertible top, for example. Most of these trucks are quirky, but unique in their own right. These trucks range from 1.6 liter diesel engines with barely 75 horsepower, all the way to electric motors. Its safe to say that most of the population have forgotten about these trucks. Most of these pickups featured in this video are a rare sight nowadays.

Another great video Rob, the GMC Cyclone was one of GM's all time greats. Thanks for the great work.

Thanks man. You scared me with with the Cyclone spelling haha! MotorWeek and Hagerty said “Syclone” so that’s what I went with.

Syclone is the correct spelling for the GMC. Cyclone is the correct spelling for the Mercury, as well as being the correct spelling of the actual word.

I was skeptical when I read the thumbnail of the video, but the Dakota convertible actually made my mouth drop to the floor.

These car manufacturers must’ve been high as a kite in the 80s.

You are becoming quite good a putting the lists together. I like how you discussed the Rampage and how it changed to how it is today. You had GM well covered on this list. You know the gauge cluster in the GMC sport truck and Cyclone are from the Pontiac Sunbird. Go look at a Sunbird GT from the late 1980's early 1990's. Ford was presented too. What about Lincoln Blackwood based off the Lincoln Navigator and Lincoln Mark LT based off Ford F150? It was still sold in Mexico even after they stopped selling them in the United States. Thank you for the list.

Yeah those newer ones will be on a different list. The Blackwood and LT and all of those. Wanted to keep this 70s-90s

I think the S-10 Cameo was even less common than the Sonoma GT, but I'd have to research it. There was also a Ford Courier that preceded the Ranger. Interesting part of that model is Ford used to sell Mazda trucks in North America until the Ranger arrived, but Ford continued selling Mazda-sourced trucks outside of the US throughout the 80s into the early 90s. Then, Mazda sold Ford-sourced trucks. Strange relationship.
