Brilliant. Gives my enthusiasm a boost. Was getting disappointed with all the attention the more modern songs get but to see the huge alternatives available makes me want to get stuck in. Wish there was a collection of these songs somewhere, or at least a listing of them.
@PhilDoleman3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Graeme, I'm working on a list right now. It won't be all of them (too many!) but a decent amount of songs from different eras that you can play with these chords.

Hi Phil, You explain and demonstrate so well, it is falling in place fast. You have so many great videos, can you suggest a rout a beginner should take rather than picking random lessons?
@PhilDoleman2 жыл бұрын
Hi Tony, I do have a short beginner series on my channel, starting here... kzbin.info/www/bejne/eYW6dKB5gMyarck Then I'd suggest this video on strumming kzbin.info/www/bejne/bpO2nolsfq-keLc Then maybe this one on the three chord trick kzbin.info/www/bejne/j4vOhp5tf5h_sKM And then you should have everything you need to try out my play along videos on this playlist kzbin.info/aero/PLplB1uutyYgG-Gm1Cghh01t3XJSPMDHVy All the best, Phil

You might prepare some similar charts in the key of D, F and G, the most popular other keys that we find in popular songs. I'm not suggesting you have similar videos to this one, just provide the same 8 chords for different keys. Most of us can do the key changes ourselves, but for the beginning folks, providing similar sheets would be useful.

That's a great idea, and it will tie into one I'm planning on transposing, thanks!

Really helpful.... Would it be cheeky to ask.... could you do the equivalent for the G scale? I've got a low singing voice and and haven't mastered barre chords. I can play these 8 chords and if I really mastered them, plus the 8 equivalents in the G scale... I'd have as much as I need!
@PhilDoleman3 жыл бұрын
Hi David, there's a lot of crossover with the key of G. What you would need would be G, C and D7 for the first 3 chords. The you would add the Em. The next two would be Am and B7, and the last two would be E7 and A7. You can play B7 without barring as 2320 or 4320. Hope this helps!

That D chord... instead of pressing just the 3 notes in that fret, u just bar it and in stead of an open A u press the A in a higher octave to complete the chord??? Is that wut he did? Cause thats way easier. Wait... i get it! Thats basically a C chord but since u use yer finger to bar the fret... the C becomes a D cause u go down a full step down the neck!!! I get it now!

Thanks Dave, I have over 100 song tutorials on my Patreon page. I tend not to post many here as so many songs are still under copyright and I end up with a copyright strike!

How does anyone look for a list of songs with these cords in them

You find hundreds of them in any uke club songbook, but I'll compile a list of some of them and add it to the description.
