With 673 hours in Mordheim i'm not surprised about the last entry. Although when it appeared on the list I thought it would be about the "missions" you have to do, where you face infinity spawning enemies or complete BS "bosses" you have to fight!

This is actually why I stopped buying/playing Mario Kart games... Last one I played was Mario Kart Wii, and I stopped after I was more than HALF A LAP ahead of 2nd place going into the final turn... and ended up in SEVENTH because of all the crap it threw at me. I would not mind handicaps being AVAILABLE, but the degree to which those in the back got boosted was absolutely absurd, and there was no way to turn them off.

8:21 I haven't played the original game (sue me), but if you played the 2003 version's story mode on *normal* difficulty, it's nearly impossible to get to the 3rd stage of... I don't know, I never got past the third... And as for Mordheim: It's true that it's quite difficult, maybe even unfair, but usually I win 3 out of 5 times with no problem and then get utterly obliterated by 4-foot-rats with cutlery for weapons to a point where I could just as well resign an start a new warband, because my best warriors are dead and the rookies won't survive half a mission.

The Triple Triad card game in FF8 is basically unplayable until you've got all the summons and dump everything else. The AI always has a counter unless you've got just the right cards for each board position.

Played F-Zero as a youngster. Now that explains the rage quit fits. I just having a flashback of racing and bumped around like a pinball. Even did my best to evade and avoid, it would end me losing my voice and tears in my eyes.

As someone who picked up Mordheim on a whim, I must say I was really brought down by the actual mechanics. I fell in love with the presentation, the lore, the story and the way you could customize and alter the warband, the different units were lovely, just everything. But the missions (outside of the story missions which are few, far between and often bullcrap levels of difficult) are all the same, the enemy factions are on a relentless arms race against you in terms of stronger units and skills, and now this...yeah, as much as I love the IDEA of it, the actual game itself is pretty hard to enjoy sadly.

I remember I didn't even own the dlc and I started a new run. Second mission I did I was up against super op vampires. Wiped me out in two turns. Think I didn't play again for like 6 months.

@@cjdowns5748 Ah, you've run into them too. Yep. Worse thing, I own the DLC for them and just when you expect to be OP yourself, well...think again. Suddenly, all the enemies roll insanely well on Terror tests and Fear tests and get through your armour like nobody's business.

The fact that Mordheim's RNG system is named "Tyche" made me laugh as Tyche is the Greek Goddess of Fortune and obviously fortune is favouring the computer not the player.

My friend had Populous on the Amiga and the moment you started stage 2 the opposing "god" struck with all sorts of in-game field hazards that you barely had time to register and to make matters worse the hazards always landed in a part of the map miles from where you were.

So pleased to see FF7 on this list. First thing I did when Playstation emulators became useable was install one, rip my FF7 discs and rush through to the Gold Saucer. Save states let me confirm personally that the 5th opponent didn't exist because you were supposed to lose against the 4th dude. It was the not knowing that got to me.. And yes, I know that you could use the game discs themselves from your PC's CD tray btw.. If you didn't mind the constant framerate juddering with the earliest Playstation emulators.

Baldur's Gate 3 is a massive cheat game. I love it. And I hate it. Spellcasters have forever spells...every enemy has forever potions (strangely the AI scripts don't consume them on cooldown though). I dislike when game enemies don't play by the same rules the player character has to play with.

That percentage to hit problem was also present in Super Robot Wars Impact. About halfway through the game you would encounter a boss from the Zeorymer series had a skill that once it got over a certain amount of morale (usually about turn 2 of fighting it), would require you to use your 100% accuracy skill to hit it, otherwise you would miss (even if you naturally had 100% accuracy against it). On top of that it had a ridiculous amount of health, forcing you to decide between hitting it at all for miniscule damage or using your damage multiplier skills and almost certainly missing. Also, you only have enough magic to use that accuracy skill 3x or the damage multiplier once.

in quake3, the railgun isn't a one-hit kill. players spawn with 125hp, ticking down at 1hp per second until it reaches 100. armor pickups reduce damage by 33%. only players who never pick up armor or ignore megahealth/health bonuses. armors respawn every 25 seconds and megahealth 35 seconds after pickup. that's not accounting for mods that change weapon/armor balances. ie, something like CPMA where armors are tiered in damage reduction a la Quake2.

Yu-Gi-Oh: Forbidden Memories. Most of the late game duelists always have like a 20 card hand even though it shows only five. Not only that they also have cards that are OP and are unavailable to the player.

Perfect Dark had that Quake cheating. You could be in a level with 3+ floors, be on the top level with the CPU on the bottom and they will permanently be running around the map with their gun pointed directly at you.

Quake 3 arena - the final boss could be killed easily, you nail him with the rail gun every time he tries to use the jump pad to get over to you. Hardest part is setting it up

Yugioh Forbidden Memories since some characters own powerful monster cards that are not available to the player (Ultimate Great Moth, Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon, Gate Guardian). Heishin straight up destroys the player because he has a deck of OP monster cards at the beginning of the game and if you somehow win, he rematches you until you lose.

I put quite a bit of time in mordheim. Glad to see someone talking about it even though the game is 90 percent bs I loved the crazy randomness of it. I will never forgot one of my weakest mercenaries developing megalomania after he was downed in almost ever mission and lost several body parts.

I have a gold trophy in Mordheim and came to the same conclusions, thanks for that. The DLC is wose there's a giant skaven that will kill everybnody with one hit. Plus the real kicker and what makes it all wrong is that there is only a hardcore mode. All the time and energy it takes to level up a character destroyed because you went to the wrong square. I have a few choice things to say about XCOM as well.

That damn yellow car in the original RC Pro-Am. It will randomly and very suddenly be able to drive 10x faster than everyone else for the rest of the game. It’s really obnoxious. I’ve also caught the Hard AI in the iOS version of Race for the Galaxy cheating. It’s a very specific situation, but the AI can read my phase selection and plan accordingly to force the end of the game if its in a winning position. While there is an ability that allows players to see another’s roles before they choose their own, the AI doesn’t have this in the instances of cheating I’ve seen.

I remember that in rc pro am too. Depending on how far you were able to make it. The color of the car changed. After a while they made it so you had no chance of winning. I used a game genie once. To make the computer cars go crazy and drive in small circle. There is no end to the game. Eventually, you just keep collecting small trophies. You collection of them actually stops. You pretty much just race til you quit or the game freezes.

I remember as a kid me and my sister would play split screen vs on siphon filter I believe and she would constantly accuse me of screen watching which I always tried to avoid cuz I despised cheating, it wasn't fun to me if you cheated. But her complaints about me screen watching got so bad that eventually our dad decided to settle it by getting a massive piece of cardboard and taped it to the TV along the line in the split and we would sit on either side and play like that which went on to prove I wasn't screen watching I was just better. My sister would call it cheating when we played bloody roar and I used my favorite character that I was best with. When I would beat her she would get mad and say I wasn't allowed to use that character anymore. This would persist until I beat her with every character on the roster and then she would just quit playing.

In terms of fighting games, the biggest middle finger is when you're facing cheap fighters, but their playable versions absolutely suck. In other words, the game is telling you that it handicapped the fighter to be a cheating *******, but you're not allowed to use those handicaps yourself.

I know I felt badly cheated by F-Zero 64's AI drivers on higher difficulties. Practically all of the opponents blasted by right on the start and you could never catch up even to the mid-tier over the courses of the race (I think the races had upwards of 60 drivers) The other cars clearly were simply going faster.

For me I feel like if I have a kid I will not teach them not to cheat but instead I will teach them to not get caught cheating and use the law to protect them whenever they can. Cheaters succeed. A criminal empire gets shattered and people go to prison. A business empire gets wounded and the cheaters retire with big bank accounts and very light prison sentences.

XCOM 2 also cheats. Same problem as Mordheim. 99% hit chance and you still miss 2 out of 5 times. And don't try save scumming because it will actually make your chances worse, oddly enough

The proper response to being called a screen watcher: Laugh at the idiots not doing it. Cause if you're playing split screen, it's stupid to assume that anyone who can see the screen isn't watching everything. Most likely, it's just that people who think it's a bad thing are just bad at it, because we all know they're also watching our segments of the screen. Hypocrisy from sore losers. Surprised Mario Kart isn't on the list. But, then again, that's a bit obvious, as it's pretty much the flagship of "the video game is a cheating bastard" trope.
