Thank you for the ideas, Meredith. One that I found was the back and forth curly cues every half inch or so, done with the slotted tool, then arranged into an enclosed shape. I could do that all day! But, as you said, we need to think if that would make sense with a particular design. Still, with quilling being an art form, who's to say the artist didn't intend for the hive to be filled in with busy bee flight paths, which is what the curly cue reminds me of.☺️

It sounds like you’re describing the beehive technique. Always helpful in filling a space quickly 🙂

I enjoy your videos so much. They are wonderful. Almost every question I have had so far in learning how to quill, you have answered in your videos! Thank you so much! Can you please tell me where you get your strips? I tried to look up on google the brands of strips you mentioned but could not find them. I do have another question though on a project I am working on now. I am quilling a photo of my daughter running a marathon. Not easy. I have had some hiccups. One that is driving me nuts is the background on part of the pix. I am trying to use filler for the little tuutuu skirt (it was a Disney Marathon :) . But the filler does not cover the skirt completely, even though the design is wall to wall filler. The background shows up. I did the beehive for her face which turned out well but the background paper is still going to "shine" through. Do you have any ideas for my dilemma?

I think I just answered your question on another video. I'd love to know how the card turns out 🤩

Hi Meredith! I am new to quilling. Like you did I, also, have fallen for the art. I'm wanting to make a full-size 12x14 picture of a rooster. I have the drawing, but not sure if I should do the work on wax paper and then transfer to the main paper, OR do I assemble it straight onto the main paper it will be glued to? Can you advise me? Thank you!
@ThePaperyCraftery4 жыл бұрын
Sounds like a fun project! Is there a way you can break your design up into smaller sections? I would do small sections on the wax paper over a traced template of your rooster, then piece it back together as your finished project. It gives you more chances to play around with your design while being able to make mistakes that won’t be a problem for your finished surface.

@@ThePaperyCraftery That sounds like an idea. I'd have to make sure all the ends lined up, and it's going to be line (edge) quilling. Do sketched lines get covered up with this method?
@ThePaperyCraftery4 жыл бұрын
On-edge should be just fine for your lines.

Quilling paper is so thin .can you give me a size that's thicker then original one . Do they come cut up ?where can I buy them? Thank you
@ThePaperyCraftery4 жыл бұрын
A lot of the quilling paper is sold in the 1/8" width, but there are other sizes like 1/4". The majority of the paper I use is sold by Quilling.com or QuilledCreations.com. I have links to all the products that I use in the description box under my videos. You can also buy quilling paper that is sold in metric sizes like 3mm or 5mm, if that is what you prefer. If you're looking for a thicker weight paper, you'll want to find paper that is made of card stock. Some crafters do cut their own so they can use the exact type of paper that works for them.

Ma'am the caption covers the work which you are showing.please put them on top.
@ThePaperyCraftery2 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately I don’t have control over where KZbin places the closed captions, and if I zoom out, it’s difficult to see the quilling. It is very easy to turn off the captions in your settings for KZbin if you don’t need them, though 🙂
