I’ve never purchased a guitar online or had one shipped to me, so new guitar days for me have been quite different. Telling the salesman at the shop that, “I’m taking this home today”, strikes me as so much more satisfying than clicking on the purchase button and confirming my credit card details. A new guitar is great no matter what the process though. How it sounds/ feels without an amp is definitely a deal breaker for me as well. 🎸❤️🎸

Good points! Might i add: 9. shower first, to feel refreshed- you would before a nice date right? 10. pick a good time of day to unbox: strat with a morning coffee, es335 for the afternoon nap and gibson growl for the alcohol fueled saturday nights. 11. tell your SO ngd is kinda a big deal so it would be k nice if you didnt have to do a store run after just opening the latches. I could go on and on with these. Nice ideea for the video, ill stop myself now

I love your videos, I wish i could have watched this one sooner, my last New Guitar Day was just Wednesday, Sep. 16, which was also my Birthday. I finally picked up my new Fender Jimmy Page Dragon Telecaster. Possibly my best New Guitar Day EVER!!!! (Except for maybe the day I got my first Gibson Les Paul, or maybe the day I got my new SG....)

lol 'but not jazz' - like how you snuck that in there. I get new guitar day next Tuesday for my replacement Orangewood guitar. Hopefully it'll have at least some of the bliss of opening a new Les Paul. So far it was more of a huge letdown. Followed by the whole 7 stages of grief. And then the whole waiting to RMA and getting a replacement.

Oh man, that's definitely a bummer. Thankfully I've had some amazing luck when it comes to guitars. I've only sent one back, and it had nothing to do with the guitar. A different one I wanted more came in stock so I exchanged it. Hopefully your situation turns out good.
