First they delete family videos cause youtube is not the same anymore and they want to keep their children safe, then they post videos only about Edie like the other 3 siblings are not as equally important. You should have told this little boy that its ok to like girl dresses and like pink and have long hair, even if he is a boy. He has no idea what transgender means yet. She might decide she is a feminine man later. How could you label him when you dont label yourself and at such a young age?! Also what the heck with those false lashes, its not appropriate even for a girl at his age? This poor boy/girl is getting sexualised in these videos with false lashes, tight jeans and crop tops which are not age appropriate for 10 year old girls either... The sad part is you realised you can make more money with this story than family vlogging. But you dont realise what your child will feel when she changes her mind or as a teen realises what these videos actually meant.Im not saying dont let your child like girl things. Im saying dont put her all over the internet in false lashes and crop tops, cause it has a different message. I love and support Edie on this journey, but this is such a personal and huge part of their life and I am quite concerned that having every single video solely focused on their transition will be harmful later in life and possibly for the other kiddos too. It has definitely begun to feel exploitive or as if Jonathan is living vicariously through Edie. Jonathan should be the parent here and be a little more protective of this special time in Edie’s life. I was such a fan of this family for so long and they seemed so genuine, I think Jonathan has become a little…. obsessed with fame. It makes me sad, I think we can all sense this is going in a negative direction. I hope it’s not the case - I hope the other kids don’t feel left out or excluded and I hope that Edie only ever looks back on this time as wonderful. But letting your daughter wear crop tops and full makeup on camera for millions to see when they are so young and when going through such a major life change and when every detail of that change is shared, I think this could be very harmful for them later in life. I hope not, I really do, but, if we’ve learned anything from history… it’s that the concern is valid and if there’s the slightest chance that’s the case, you’d think their parents would be a little more thoughtful or discretionary about what they’re sharing and how they’re sharing it. And I don’t want to hear the argument “Edie wants to do it and asks to do it” - Edie doesn’t have a fully formed brain yet, they are not able to make decisions with the knowledge and full scope of what is being shared. There’s a reason why kids used to be lured into vans with candy… it’s because they’re kids! They don’t know yet what they don’t know, and it’s the parents job to step in and say “I love you, and when you’re a bit older we will do this then.” Edie can’t consent to these videos right now, because she doesn’t understand all of the different layers to it, she has NO idea. It’s not right.

@ccloves98662 жыл бұрын
@@juliecarriker9950 I have no problem with them mentioning it but every video has become solely about Edie and their transition. Edie can't consent to this, they aren't even double digits in age yet, I think when it comes to children you err on the side of caution in terms of their privacy. They don't need to hide in the shadows or be ashamed of who they are, you clearly have misunderstood me. I am in full support of her transition, but I don't think it's Edie's job to be the poster child for being transgender, and they are not old enough to make the decision themselves as to what Jonathan has essentially signed them up for. They are a child, sure videos are fun, but there is no way Edie can fully understand how far and wide her story will go, and if when she is 18 or even 16 she wants to share every little detail, I will be the first to sign up to that channel. But if in 10, 15, or 20 years they are experiencing trauma from having their entire life and transition broadcasted at such a young age, those are ramifications for life. There is no way to know, so fully support them, but her parents need to be more thoughtful and choosey about what is shared. It doesn't mean they aren't being supportive publicly or in private, it just means don't exploit your child, transgender or not, and protect their privacy until they are old enough to make the decision for themselves. These aren't vlogs of a family's daily life anymore, it's the Jonathan story of them trying to relive their childhood which was full of trauma and I hope that this over-exposure does not become traumatic for Edie when they are 40. If Edie can't record the video, edit and publish it, then they are not old enough to decide to have their entire story broadcasted by their parent on the internet. Period. End of sentence.

I do wonder of parents & adults didn't push such gender norms onto children & limit their options of interest & self expression, if less people felt like they needed to change to be themselves. As you say a boy can have a pink bedroom or cover for their iPad & still be a boy. My friend's dad is getting on in age & he likes his pink socks, he is a straight, cis man. It's almost funny, if not so concerning, how a lot of the modern discussions around gender are tied to strict gender roles. I am also realizing how incredably lucky I was to be born into a family where none of my elders limited what I could do, buy, think, or feel, simply because I was born female. My mother is in her 60s & is realising the same thing, just how sexist & judgemental other people are. I respect her greatly for prioritizing my happiness & not limiting my self expression. I am also concerned that children are being mislead with over simplistic explinations & think they need to have certian labels to be free. I have a friend of a friend who came out as none binary recently & their explination was that they want to be able to have whatever length hair they want & wear whatever clothes they want, they shouldn't need to change their gender to do that! They also likely have some underlying prejudice & self limiting rules they need to work on, preferably with a therapist. Don't get me wrong I do believe that trans people do exist. However when as adults they explain how they felt/feel it's incredably difficult to explain & can not be summed up as liking pink Vs blue or cars Vs dolls. If an adult struggles to articulate those complex inner feelings, what chance does a young child have? As for these parents sensationalizing this emotional, vulnerable, difficult time in their children's lives, I am just so incredably disappointed. I really hope they listen to some feedback, or somone close to them can help them see reason because they are inadvertently hurting their children, especially their trans daughter that they claim to care so much about.

Your son is a child. Please, please treat him like one. Allow him a proper childhood, away from the Internet. I can't get my head around you feel the need to film him 'transitioning' from a boy into a girl. Let the kid enjoy what he enjoys and stop putting a label on it! Just because he likes pink and other stereotypical girly things, this makes him a girl? How old is he? My 8 year old daughter likes to wear trousers, climb trees and ride her skateboard. Does this mean she 'was born in the wrong body'? No, it bloody doesn't. She exploring. She's growing. She's experimenting. My 9 month old enjoys playing with his sisters toys. Maybe he wants to transition? I've never heard/seen/watched anything so sad. It's truly upsetting what you're doing to him. Please just let him be, let him grow and stop labelling it!

Anna is too busy shopping, spending the money that her children make for her. What sort of mother would allow Jonathan to live vicariously through their child and project all of his issues? Eduardo does not need to transition. Jonathan needs to come out as gay.

You are an awful parent - the child is too young to understand fully what being trans is, I fully support the trans community but firstly , even if she does grow up to change , what is she doesn’t? You are publicly documenting this online for everyone to see, for when she grows up and maybe doesn’t want this anymore? Due to thinking because she doesn’t like football she is now a girl - the disregard and lack of integrity to your child is really horrific , you shouldn’t be a parent

I really hope they are careful while they continue to showcase Edie as their “main” focal point recently through KZbin, Tiktok etc. It’s great to raise awareness but I worry about her safety / future mental state. These videos will follow her during her whole lifetime. Does she really understand the level of consent she is given for her story to be so public at such a young age?

Of course she doesn't, she has no comprehension of it. Unlike her father, who said that if he knew people were looking at videos of his children for unsavoury purposes it "wouldn't be terrible" I can't believe this channel is still going. Heartbreaking honestly.

If gone girl didn’t teach us anything about exploiting your child and creating a perception of that child without actually knowing the complex issues of what it means to just be a human & then put on center stage for everyone and capitalizing on it, capitalizing on it sound good and all when attention and money is given but what happens when that doesn’t happen I mean how many articles come out about actors who started young and how hard it was to move forward into adult hood with people having certain expectations of them

I keep thinking of NikkieTutorials. She didn’t want anyone to know at all (until she was forced to because of blackmail). She still doesn’t want to say what her "dead name" (I hope that’s the correct term), and that seems like a common thing.
@CherryExplosion852 жыл бұрын
This is absolutely child exploitation. Obviously it’s perfectly fine for a child to explore and discover their identity. But what is not okay are these parents showcasing their child in every single video for views and money. And it worries me for Edie’s mental health in the future. Not to mention how the other children will be affected by this. I feel they might resent their parents when they are adults for all of this. This is extremely damaging and worrisome 😕
@NotAnotherKuromi2 жыл бұрын
This feels way too personal, like I'm intruding on a private moment. It's difficult for adults to adjust when someone comes out as LGBT, expecting children to understand, or be ok with it, & showing this emotionally charged transitional time is disrespectful. I also hope all of the children are getting support where they can speak freely & honestly. Obviously Edie wants her siblings to be all totally ok with her transition but life isn't that simple & seeing her desperate for Dre to say he was ok with it & him lying to avoid hurting her feelings broke my heart & frankly made me concerned. In another video Jonathan asked Alessia how she felt about Edie's transition & she got obviously uncomfortable & nervous but he continued to push her to answer & then upload it to the internet. Grieving for the past person, or who you thought they were, as well as would go on to be, is a natural process. You would benifit from all of you having more time to work through your complicated feelings (yes complicated because it isn't simple, or easy & no-one should be mislead to think it is, for anyone involved) as well as having some room to breathe. Perhaps the parents are trying to show how ok they are with this transition & how educated they are about such issues, however they are inadvertently exposing how nieve they actually are. Clearly they have much more to learn because pushing people to say they're fine when they are not causes emotional problems & relationship issues, just look at Edie's past, or Jonathan's, or anyone's! Also they can be supportive without giving Edie preferential treatment, it will only harm her in the long run. The parents would be doing Edie, their other children & every LGBT person a disservice if they continued to exploit this private issue & sensationalise something that they claim to view as perfectly normal. As an LGBT person I just want to be accepted & seen as normal, the coverage of Edie, the noticible lack of coverage of the other children & the sensationalistic way that Jonathan in particular is covering this is actively worsening our reputation & causing harm to both their own family & the wider community. I sincerely hope that the parents take this feedback on board & don't get overly defensive, or lie that everyone providing constructive criticism is just a hater, troll, or phobic. A lot of us within the LGBT community see a problem with how this is being handled, precisely because we have been through this & can identify with Edie so much. Please listen & at least hold off on sharing such personal moments with the world. Showing your children doing regular kids stuff, having fun, doing age appropriate activities would show that you are handling the transition well, would show that Edie is just like any little girl & would help set the tone for everyone else. Please, please listen to us.

Can we just take a moment to realise in the last 4 months.. every single KZbin video (not including the shorts, but actual videos) which is 6... have revolved around Edie... whilst I don’t think there is anything wrong with a child finding their true self, exploiting them on the internet is wrong..
@maneskinnnnn71902 жыл бұрын
is called raising awareness
@Cairniverse2 жыл бұрын
@@maneskinnnnn7190 There’s a big difference between raising awareness versus what they’re doing… Raising awareness will be going around your day-to-day life occasionally showing what it is like… Posting six videos or within four months purely surrounded around this child is not awareness… You also have to look at the fact that all their other videos have the comments turned off but strangely the comments on this video are on. Why? Because Jonathan knew exactly where he would get this reaction and comments boost the video in the algorithm therefore generating more views and surprise surprise money. Raising awareness would be mentioning it every once in a while but completely dedicating the last six months of their life to just this is not awareness and there’s no way to bend it that way. Also Jonathan is a major influence to the child. The child is fully aware they get a large amount of attention when they say they want to be a girl and they want to enjoy these things obviously they’re gonna continue to act this way so that they get the attention I would actually love to see what happens and what the child chooses by them self on the parent is removed from the situation. Because not long ago this child said on an Instagram story that they felt like a boy that day. Sure maybe this child is struggling with identity issues and if they are then I hope they speak to a therapist who can help them figure out how they truly feel and what is right for them. However with Jonathan standing in the background heavily pushing them to be trans obviously this is the route the child is going to choose. I have a feeling Jonathan is living his ideal child life through his child. To clarify There is nothing wrong at all with a transgender child, but after going through the Instagram TikTok and KZbin and seeing that the past six months have Been dedicated to this topic is absurd. I myself identifiers gender fluid, and that took me over a year to figure out with the help of a therapist… Yet to everybody seems to be accepting the fact that an eight-year-old has figured it out in six months? I don’t think so. Jonathan is heavily pushing this on the child, to get the attention he knows it will bring… Again for money. Jonathan are stated many times that they are having money issues, in the past if they had an issue with one of their cars they would’ve taken it to be fixed, but Anna’s range Rover has an issue and suddenly it can’t just be taken to the shop to be fixed by Jonathan tries to fix it himself… He also made an Instagram story stating that private school was extremely expensive and that he was considering taking the kids out of the school. I let these people pull the wool over my eyes for a long time, but after taking a step back from the channel I see them how they truly are. Which is hard as I used to idolise these people but they’re not the heroes here they are the villains and that is truly sad.

Clickbaity title and all, and your “transitioned” kid saying “like and subscribe!” It’s absolutely sickening. The dad is clearly trying to live vicariously through his preteen child and it’s absolutely, completely shameful. Once the kid develops the hormones to understand his feelings and can actually understand the implications of making such a decision, THEN he can transition if he wants to. If he grows into a teenager and still has those feelings and wants to transition while understanding all of the implications, by all means, go ahead. Support him 100%. But there is no f’ing way a 2nd or 3rd grader should be making these lifelong decisions, and CERTAINLY not turning those decisions into an online spectacle that will follow him for the rest of his life. If he wants to play with dolls or play dress up, go ahead, let him do what he wants. But this? This is pure insanity.
