This was the first mod on my Scat Pak Shaker. The second was an oil catch can on the PVC line. I also remember jacking, blocking and crawling under the car. I got myself a drive on lift in my garage for my 50th birthday present I don.t miss crawling under the car any more for jobs like this it takes longer to get the car up off the ground and on jack stands than it takes to do the job.
@WorkPlayDrive7 жыл бұрын
Totally agree, some day I will have a lift, until then all my jobs will be extended by 30 minutes of lifting and lowering the car. Catch can for me is in the works still trying to figure out what color I want to detail the engine Bay. Since my car is all black I was considering all orange anodized accents under the hood.

Quick question i have a 2021 Dodge Challenger Scat Pack 6.4L if i installed this skip shift eliminator would this messed up the transmission by shifting all the time when i first take off on 1st gear and then shifting to 4th gear
@gladtal7 жыл бұрын
Great video, thanks! This doesn't shoot of any Check Engine Light or void your warranty or anything?
@WorkPlayDrive7 жыл бұрын
The eliminator prevents the check engine light from coming on as it simulates the skip shift solenoid. Regarding warranty issues the device installed would have to proven as the cause of the issue for them to deny the warranty.

I feel like an actual car ramp would be a good purchase for you. When you need to remove a wheel the jack is a must but for these other vids where you need to just get under the car, I think a set of ramps would make your life easier.

True, but I have the routine streamlined since I've done it so many times. :) Once I get more space in my Garage for storage I plan on picking up a set of 56" race ramps.

The skip shift is an issue, masquerading as a fuel efficiency feature, for the Manual transmission models and only engaged when shifting from 1st to 2nd gear, between 19 and 21 mph with the Throttle 1/4 or less. Usually happened to me when making left turns or in my local neighborhoods. Never an issue when you are driving aggressively.
@respond_code34 жыл бұрын
I don't understand what the skip shift does. Bought a 19 scat 2 months ago and from reading the manual I was like what the hell. In street mode if I'm between 19-21 mph I cant shift into 2nd? I'm forced into 4th? That simply isn't the case. I'm able to shift into 2nd NP. So i thought maybe the manual just meant it as a suggestion. If you're at that speed you should shift into 4th for optimal mpg. I'm averaging 14 smiles per gallon so. Not really concerned about optimal driving Edit: went and read all the comments. I guess it is supposed to lock you out of 2nd. I wonder why I haven't had this happen. Maybe my throttle was just a tad to much

Sometimes when shifting from 1st to 2nd it's like it bumps it away from the strait down pattern into 2nd gear(doesn'twant to go into 2nd), does this skip shift eliminator fix that problem?
@WorkPlayDrive5 жыл бұрын
Yes, this eliminates the "efficiency feature" where after the car warms up between 19 - 21 MPH when trying to shift into 2ng gear at moderate to low throttle 2nd gear is locked out sliding you into 4th.
@392Boost4 жыл бұрын
@@WorkPlayDrive , thanks for the video. I thought my trans was messed up, and I've been banging my shifter over hard left when shifting into first, because I thought the shaft out of the trans wasn't rotating enough. I even bought the Barton shifter to fix this problem, and I was sad that it didn't go away (Although way happy with the shifter anyways, much much better than stock). I'm gonna see if I can tune it out with HPTuners, if not I'll get this. The whole point of a manual is to have complete control of the shifting, I had no idea that somebody would ever come up with such a stupid idea as forced people to skip 2 gears. Thanks

Hey amigo! Do you have a vid doing the clutch delete valve? @sznihad80326 жыл бұрын
Awesome thanks bro! Hey do you see any issues in doing it? I thought it'd be a good combo mod with my recently installed Barton (thanks to your vid)
@WorkPlayDrive6 жыл бұрын
my reasoning for not doing it, is when you drop the clutch to launch it removes the delay which in my mind does 2 important things when slipping the clutch a little. It creates a more consistent launch and pads the shock to your drivetrain. the tradeoff is that slip will of course wear out your clutch faster. That said tons of people do it and so far I have not read any major issues.

Great video. You had mentioned in the Taser video, that you were uphappy with the dealership you purchased from. Any suggestions for a Hellcat dealership that sells alot of these and knows the car well. I am in the Northeast. Look forward to the next video. New subscriber!!!
@WorkPlayDrive8 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the sub! My dealership was out of CT, I don't have a dealership I could recommend, I do all my maintenance myself fearing the day I can't fix something... however there are quite a few Facebook groups you should join with tons of members willing to share their purchase experience start with "dodge challenger owners association" If you're in North Jersey www.northjerseymopar.com we have quite a few hellcat owners that would be happy to share
@tbdieseltrucking8 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the response, and you're welcome on the sub. I am in Mass, but my wife is originally from Jersey (Jamesburg area ). I would be doing the maintenence myself as well. I just have a hard time with dealerships that just want to "sell" a car. Most likely would wait for spring to avoid crappy weather. Would love a Hellcat, but most likely will get the 392 Scatpak Shaker in manual. We'll see. I guess I have to broaden my horizons with social media. This is all I have. Anyways...enjoying the videos...thanks again.

What does that item do? I did not hear it in the video.
@WorkPlayDrive7 жыл бұрын
with a challenger manual transmission for fuel economy reasons the car locks out 2nd gear when the engine is at normal operating temps, the car is traveling 19 - 21 MPH and the throttle is less than 1/4/ It's an annoyance because in my case I would be making a left turn and try to shift into second and get denied, I would then fumble for 3rd or 4th.
@Inspector39887 жыл бұрын
I have not noticed my 2016 six speed blocking out any gears when I move. Is this only on the earlier models? I have the 392 engine.
@WorkPlayDrive7 жыл бұрын
It's on all modern manuals as far as I know. it only happens when all the conditions are met. My brain is programmed to shift between 19-21 MPH when turning and I couldn't stop doing it so this helped

What a great video... sharing your car with your daughter... how unbelievably adorable. I have an 11 year old daughter that loves cars as much as I do. I will do the same thing with my Fiesta st and Challenger when I buy them.... Your daughter loves the camera, and isn't afraid to help daddy with his hot-rod. A question tho... when she reaches driving age, will you pass the Challenber down to her? As my Rachael wants me to get her a Kia Optima when she starts driving in 5-6 years or when she chooses. Cherish these times with her... ^^ Cheers... Kimonoskunk

what does the skip shift eliminator do exactly
@WorkPlayDrive8 жыл бұрын
on a Manual for fuel economy the skip shift forces you from first to 4th, like a gate blcoking off 2nd gear. The skip shift only comes into play when your car is warmed up and you try to shift from 1st to 2nd between 19 and 21 MPH at 1/4 throttle or less. For me this was always happening when making left turns or while driving through the school zone and shifting low to keep the exhaust noise down.

This is only an issue (actually tagged as a fuel economy feature) with the manual transmission. If you have issues with the Auto shifting you may want to see the dealer for that fix.
