The locs are looking so good! But I wonder where they would be length wise if you hadn’t cut them a while back.

Thank you for blessing us with your positive energy. Happy to know that you are on a meaningful path through your journey. I still watched your old videos which contributed to keeping me from combing mines out in the beginning. I’m still only a year loc’d and my hair is very difficult as I have wavy, straight and curly hair mixed about🤦🏽♀️the top is almost wavy and the back is loose curly. My hair had the butterfly look going on and I don’t like that for myself. My hair would also be pulling on other hairs to slide up…ouch and I am very tender headed so I released the bunching areas and found that it helped but it’s a pain to have to wash oh so carefully by braiding sections together so they won’t move much in the shower. I also have a lot of gray hair that I am not ready to show which means I am washing my hair 4x’s in a row per wash to get all the black dye out🤦🏽♀️some days I’m doing good and some days I’m like what the bleep🤣🤣😫however I also don’t miss having to do loose hair every day. I’m still going on this journey however and thanks again for sharing your loc journey…your right about not finding videos with the same hair texture. No one has my hair pattern at all! Your close to my hair texture but at least your hair pattern is basically the same all around. My hair is confused😂😂😂🤦🏽♀️Blessings to you and your family.

I am so happy to hear that my old videos helped you keep going! I totally understand how challenging it can be with mixed textures, it's like my hair was confused too 😂. I have 4 different textures throughout my head. Luckily with them loc’d it doesn’t show much. You’re a year in…by year 3 you’ll be like okay I m really feeling this. As they mature they relax and chill out with the bunching a bit and you’ll be able to tame them a bit more. I’m really tender headed too so girl I know that pulling is no joke. Super ouch!! Things will get easier for you don’t worry 😊🤗.

aww I think feeling like you are making a difference and at least being interested in your job is so important. Many people say that doesn't matter to them or they can do anything for work, but not me lol.
@itsDawnElleКүн бұрын
Yessss! It makes the job so much more fun to get up and go to every day. It ends up not feeling like work and I love that. I can’t do just anything or I’ll be miserable 😩.

Hey!!!👋🏾 Happy New Year 🎆!!! And congratulations on embarking on new endeavors that are fulfilling to YOU! Your locs have grown a ton since your trim! If you feel pulled to cut them shorter then go for it! I understand the concern though because I love asymmetrical loc bobs for example, but feel I don’t have enough density 😩.

Happy New Year Sis!!🎉 Thank you so much!!🤗 They really have 🥴 I was like wait how did we get here again so quick?! You are soo right! I think when my heart and my mind meet as one on the idea then I’ll do it. I’ll be sure to record it so I can share “how” I decide to do it. 😊

@ LOL, that’s a beautiful “problem” to have, but I also can see how it could be “🥴” 😆! Yes, please do share whatever you decide 💕.

Ok Dawn Elle it’s been too long. We missed you but we know life has been life-ing. You look amazing and happy new year. So i am in the same boat as you. I am almost 7 years in and my locs are waist length and i love my locs but my neck hurts and i thought it was something else. I sure hope it’s not the weight of my locs because i want to get them to my butt before i cut them. Can you recommend exercises i can do to build my neck muscles up? I have been following you for my entire loc journey. I love my locs and don’t want to cut them. Honey invest in you a good hooded dryer. I have the one just like the salon. I paid 450$ for it but it is soooo worth it. I have had it since my natural hair days. My hair dries on the warm setting in about an hour and a half.

Thank you so much! 🤗 I missed you all too! ☺️I’ve tried leaning my head back for some seconds before stretching it to the left for a few and then to the right and then rotating it clockwise and then counter clockwise. Honestly those are just temporary fixes for me. The only thing that gave me longer lasting relief was cutting some inches off. 🫤 For sure, wearing all of my hair on top of my head I find bothers my neck the most. Also, wearing styles like loc knots in a bob or my curls have helped to take some of the weight off of my neck temporarily. As for the dryers, I can’t do the hooded dryer bc it will irritate my scalp by making it super dried out and itchy/irritated so that’s why I haven’t gone that route.

it wouldn't be fair for me to answer since I'm still a baby in the loc journey (2 years) so I'm thirsty for length so...don't cut too short lol. Jk jk. But really, I think if you cut again, go ahead and go a little shorter because you KNOW it'll grow back fast.
@itsDawnElleКүн бұрын
😂that’s funny but I understand what you mean. You’re right because I got back here within 1 year lol. Welcome to the journey too! Enjoy your length bc some styles you can do so easily and naturally won’t be the same a year or 2 further into the journey. 🫤

Try turning up the volume on your headphones or the device you are listening from. I’ve had that similar issue before and didn’t realize that my headphones volume was low.
