Totilas is a legendary horse, and known as one of the most outstanding dressage horses in history. Sadly is one of the victims of the abuse method rollkur, and devastatingly died of colic at the age of 20 years old. He has left his mark on the world and in the equestrian community. Totilas will be remembered forever. Rest In Peace 🕊❤

Anyone else notice how his knees didn’t raise above his shoulders (except in “extended trot”) like later in his life? Proves that his huge movement isn’t natural. So sad to see how ruined this poor boy was.

Edward war der richtige Partner für totilas. Wenn er bei ihm geblieben wäre, dann hätte totilas nicht so viel leiden müssen. Schön zu sehen, dass totilas v o r !!!der senkrechten geht, und sein Genick wirklich der höchste Punkt ist. Schade, dass dieses Ausnahmepferd bei Rath so verramscht und ausgebeutet wurde, mit dem Höhepunkt ein lahm gehendes Pferd zu reiten und vorzustellen.!!!

Tortillas had incredible front elevations and suspension. Gal was able to use that natural talent to perfection. This is not a horse abused by rollkur. His entire rib cage lifts the rider with great power no sign of over flexion. Finally, the horse is one with his rider, listening, concentrating and joyous in his expression. Fabulous unique stallion and fabulous rider to bring it out of him. Absolute joy to watch.

I get tears in my eyes everytime when I watch this! I'm so angry they tok Totilas away from Edward. No one else should ride Totilas but Edward Gal! They are made for eachother!♥ I hate it when I see Mathias Rath riding him. With Edward Totilas ears where up the whole time! With Mathias Rath he is not relaxed anymore! Edward Gal is so kind. He has very soft hands and I can assure you he is not using rollkur. You can see Totilas loves to work for him! He really enjoys it! I will always wonder what happened when Totilas stayed with Edward. Charlotte Dujardin and Valegro vs. Edward Gal and Totilas. That would be an amazing competition!♥♥♥

Totilas was trained with extensive rollkur with Gal. That's why he had an extreme front and very lacking hind. He lifted his frontlegs unevenly, dropped his back in almost every movement, went into rollkur in most halts, stayed behind the vertical in extensions etc. There's several photos and videos of Gal using rollkur along with several signs from the horse. Totilas suddenly looked like his old self when Rath started training for the Dutch National Coach who had trained Edward. It was after he started training with that man that Rath started using rollkur on Totilas. Edward broke Totilas, just like he's now breaking many more horses to get the flashy front people are in love with.

Im not sure how you can say he has soft hands. In the very beginning when he pats Totilas' neck he grabs the reins and you see Totilas' head jerked back into shape. I did see in front of the vertical once, but the rest was pulled tight into a bad frame, and sometimes behind the vertical! Very flashy movements but most of the time the hind end was not engaged at all, especially the horrid extended trot.

Thank you for sharing.... I don´t know much about horses, but in this video like 4.25 you really would think that Totilas wants to please his rider. Edward drops the reins to lift his hat, and Totilas loses rhythm and stumbles, but he´s like "oh, sorry" and still continues with his exercise.

Das stimmt, jedoch War Totilas dort erst 8 Jahre alt und hatte noch nicht so viel erfahrung mit dem geklatschte gebrülle und gepfeife dafür finde ich hat er es gut genacht. Er War auch nie hinter der Senkrechten und Gal hat ihn sehr oft gelobt❤

sag mal wo ist der nicht hinter der Senkrechten??? Ausserdem heisst es ganz klar: Eine handbreit vor der Senkrechten. Alles was dahinter ist, ist zu eng. Und zu eng ist er wirklich, vor allem am stärkeren Trab sieht man, daß er nicht mehr vorne raus kommt, es gibt keine wirkliche Vergrösserung des Rahmens.

Es ist ein großer Irrtum meiner Meinung nach Super Papiere da muss es hoch hinaus gehen in den Klassen der Dressur man reitet keine Papiere es sind Lebewesen mit Empfindungen Sie brauchen Ihren zwei Beiner dem Sie vertrauen und aus diesem Vertrauen Respekt kommen diese fantastischen Paare die hervorragende Leistungen zeigen nichts ist einfach da wie man ja bei Totilas gesehen hatt die Reitweisen der Schenkeldruck die Reiterhand alles anders Totilas ist mit seinem Holländischen Reiter zu Traumnoten bewertet worden zu Recht Eleganz Perfektion und dann der Verkauf Rollkuren auf Kandare geritten furchtbar ich hoffe so sehr das dieser Schöne Anmutige Totilas ein gutes Leben noch hatt were Er bei mir kein Decken kein Anglotzen Beine eingepackt und raus auf die Weide leichtes Training nie wieder einen Sattel Longe Vorwärts Abwärts Spazieren gehen wenn Wasser in der Nähe ist ihm das Schwimmen an bieten na und Menüs für Ihn passend betutteln jeden Tag er hatt die Pferde Welt den Atem anhalten lassen diese Kür Zauberhaft Alles Gute für diesen Wunderhengst 💚🐎🦄🍀

Allora, carissima, il primo è un specie di cavallo simile a un cavallo da tiro che nulla ha a che vedere con una presentazione nel rettangolo. Va bene per fare una caccia a cavallo o lavorare nei campi. La cavaliera sballonzola sulla sella e fa un po' ridere. Dovrebbe evitare di presentarsi in pubblico. Il secondo è il tipico cavallo meccanizzato secondo le attuali mode alla tedesca, incappucciato, collo accartocciato e ridotto cm 50, duro con la bocca, con il cavaliere attaccato alla bocca come se dovesse fare il tiro alla fune, senza alcuna finezza. Andature da circo equestre, non naturali di un normale cavallo da sella. Brutto il cavallo, brutto il cavaliere. Bocciati tutti e due. Mi dispiace se le avessi dato due brutte notizie, ma io ho imparato con un altro genere di cavalieri. Cerchi e, se lo trova,guardi con attenzione il film di Henry Chammartin sul cavallo Wolfdietrich oppure in sella a Woermann. Quello è addestramento vero, puro, bello da vedere. Io ho lavorato tre mesi a Berna con Chammartin e ho montato sia Woermann sia Wolfdietrich, il paradiso in sella! Un abbraccio, Paolo Angioni
